  1. All the centre tunnel does is directs some heating or cool air back to the middle seats occupants ankles. If you remove it you'll also have to replace the bit of trim infront of the gearlever.
Mine is just fitted on top of the rubber mat.

I did a couple of bits yesterday, had very limited time so didnt get loads done, plus no welding mask so that made it awkward.

Anyway nearside front arch/cill - thought i only had a couple of coin holes to patch, but when i looked inside it was full of crap like filler, silicone, paper and Marmitee.
    this is the original area
    [IMG]

    this is what fell out
    [IMG]

then this is what i ended up with
    [IMG]

and this is how far i got before i had to pack up

didnt get to do much grinding and as i couldnt look at what i was welding it looks a bit crap, but i will borrow a mask next time and tidy it up with the grinder etc.
the other side has a small arch hole similar to this one, but there was no bodge there so it was lucky. Anyway, i will continue with this side another day, i planned to go down the workshop this morning to finish it off, but i have UV burn on my face from no mask, i forgot about that, i thought i should just close my eyes, but i remember last time i used a piece of cardboard to shield my face. dingbat.

Anyway, i want to get the welding finished so i can concentrate on fitting the multivan interior, my goal is to be MOT'd and Taxed ready for chill and grill, so fingers crossed. Then once that is over, possibly strip down and spray. then re-assemble and sell to get my next BAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

im so bored of this van got no enthusiasm for it. might sell it. i have no time for a project when im so busy with work.

  10. I know your pain! We restored a T25 isn't the same as a bay! Luckily I've sold it now and I'm just awaiting the delivery of a Cali import e.b.

  11. How much is still left to do on it?

It'll be worth more done than as a project for someone.

rear brakes need overhaul, petrol line replacement, full interior to do including headliner. Needs a paintjob. Proper solid though, no obvious rust in usual areas and cargo floor proper clean. Just no time to do it. I need to make time. Maybe if i MOT it and it is at the house i would get more done and be more happy to work on it and still see the family.

  14. £100 for a T25 door seems a lot!! I would shop around, When I broke one, A guy came to pick up some bits and had just brought a solid door complete for .99p. I brought a pair that needed 2 small repairs for £5 which had opening quarter lights in. Never fitted them and ended up giving all my T25 stuff to a mate when I sold mine.

If you let me know which side you need I can see if he still has them?

  16. Cheers @PSG. Yep I remember seeing your bay and liked the look of it, had nice attention to detail!!

Yea no problem with the door, I suppose repairing is good practice with the welder. There was a sealey welder on eBay the other day for £300 by the way only used for a demo. I paid £200 for mine which was well used.

sanded most of the van except roof now. fed up of sanding to be honest. synthetic Marmite blue with 1pac primer that has reacted and not had the right hardener. all pete tong. but i am persevering. oh and patched in drivers side rear arch

starter motor had piles epidemic when i spent an hour sanding on a 100ltr comp..

og stock exhaust £30 bargain, better than the scene taxed Marmite i normally see.

this is the other side of that door before i patched the outer skin. got some serious head scratching to work out how to fab that with my vice.....

busting a gut trying to get this complete. every bit of sanding is giving me arm ache lol. using a dynabrade air sander with 80grit and must have been through 30 - 40 already.
still looking forward to getting it sprayed and fitted ready to sell. seems a shame to sell after all the hard work, but the bay is number 1 priority.
    aint she a beaut.
