Can't wait to see it. But I'm not sure if I will keep it. Depends how work picks up as to whether I will need the funds for the bay. When I get in the bay I feel amazing. When I am in the 25 I feel normal. But it might grow on me. I think I should keep it as it was cheap. But not 100% sure.

  2. I drive mine daily after i scrapped my passat estate. Its not got as much character than any bay but the driving position and handling (with good quality tyres) are worlds apart. It just wants to hang on in corners where my bay wallows and rolls.

yeah i remember how nice they are to drive after i drove @lost-en-france micks 25. Mind you his was fully kitted out and i was proper in awe, until i curbed it, and blushed. lol. not sure he will remember but i do lol.

  4. I don`t ,but you know me ,it would`nt have mattered it`s just a vehicle...

No contest on which one to keep...;)

    Bay.

  6. I use mine as a daily , runs on lpg and it's just more practical as a daily than my old 79 westy

I only have to go 3 or 4 miles to work so as a daily it won't do much damage. Although like I said I could keep both if work is good.

  8. I've been using mine daily since i've got on the road, as zeb says the handling is pretty good
having scooby power helps increase the grin factor

  9. did you get the conversion done yourself? would you say its worth doing?

in my opinion, i would say scooby is always worth doing, if you are ready to invest.

  11. what do you think the fuel consumption is like with a scooby conversion, I'm thinking, modern engine so will be better, but the 2.4 loads of grunt will be worse?

  12. Subaru and LPG would be the best of both worlds, though a AGG code mk3 gti engine will get you 25-28mpg if not driven like a racecar.
I've averaged 18.5mpg on LPG with my 1.9wbx over the past 20k miles, mostly on short journeys though.

  13. The conversion was done by previous owner I get gas for 60p litre and usually get about 320-350km depending how I drive

  14. Wish gas was that cheap up here. 69.9p/l. :(
I seem to get the same mpg if i just pootle around or race everywhere.

  15. I did my scooby conversion myself using RJES for the all the bits and the original 4 speed box
So far i've done 825 miles since the MOT at an average 30mpg, i've done a good mix of motorway, town and country lane driving and I still haven't got past booting it around most the time phase yet
I've still got to fit a decent exhaust, the one i made using bit's out of the local kiwkfit's scrap bin is a bit too free flowing so a might get a couple a extra mpg's once I sort that out

  16. 30mpg average must be nice.

  17. Our local Asda is only 64p I buy from a friend who has a gas tank for home supply and his own lpg vehicles

Picked it up today, and took it home, the bay is in my only spare space at the workshop so i cant take it there, but i know i will get it re assembled quicker if it is at home.

Pleased with the paintwork, only one little niggle on there where i had fitted new rear lower quarter to the passenger side and not seam sealed it, he just sprayed over an open seam, but i can say the rest of it is pretty mych immaculate and he has wet sanded it for me and polished too. I will just put some proper panel seam seal in there and touch it in with the mini gun at work. No biggie.

Price i paid for the spray job, i supplied it prepped and primed, but unsanded and unmasked and he bought all materials etc. Two colour paintjob too. £950.00 (i put it up cos i know i would be wondering if someone else posted their fresh paintjob)

Hopefully get the cab doors on tomorrow and get the ford fiesta sunroof back in... but couldnt bear the thought of welding it up that would have been loooong, so i left it.

    Hope you like, i do.
