Put the battery on charge on a slow charger and it was full in like 1hr which isn't normal if a battery is flat.

  3. The pierburg 2e3 carb has a fast idle setting which holds revs at about 2000-3000 revs when it's first started. Its connected to choke.

Need a rev counter then cos I have a no eyed dear

  5. Basically if the engine is screaming along then the fast idle circuit is on.
Its a bit like the stepped choke bit on a 1600 bay solex carb. It slowly reduces the idle to the normal 850-900rpm over time.

I had the opposite problem on mine as it would try and tick over at 900 cold and couldn't manage it without stalling all the time. :(

So its not cure able just have to wait for the auto choke to do its stuff.

  7. yes but you need to keep blimping the throttle or it will not step down...

Yeah I remember what you said last time mick I will have a go. I am going to let it run for 8 mins to see if the choke closes. Is that right?

  9. Its got an adjustment screw on it. Haynes manual gives a vague idea on how to set it but its not the best.
You can adjust the choke (like on a bay) to make it come off earlier but then it'll stall in this cold weather. :(

  10. should move off in less than a couple of minutes...

Clock isn't working by the looks of it anyway. Light for water temp doesn't come on either. Must have a fuse gone but can't see any that are blown.

  13. should come on after the dial goes in the danger zone ,the sensor is on the rad and maybe one in the engine bay....

Had it running and went for a 5 min drive on Saturday but the temp gauge didn't move at all. It has moved before now, just not working at the min. Will check the fuses again tonight.
