Not too much happening on the split at the mo... got a few other things going on!! but that said, I've stripped the crazy paving paint from the bumpers... back bumper isn't worth repairing, but the front is... so front bumper... Some interesting repairs Under the paint And after a quick chopping session Got a bit of welding to do to that now
Getting there with the front bumper... Just got another hole to fill, then linish it all off, and a skim of filler, and jobs a good'un
Cheers dude Bumper is all welded up... Just got to go out tomorrow and pick up a new tin of filler Had a slight direction change with the splitty.. Andy who owns it, is looking at selling it come the new year, so she's getting a full respray, as tbh, it looks good in the photos, but the paint is too thick, and cracking in all the seams, and there is a fair dose of runs and imperfections!!
Cheers dude, Been up to some other stuff this last week, so not much done!! Did a few bits today... Quick test fit of the new Autocraft rear valance!! Stripping down the back end Rear hatch lock hole - must be a hatch from a prototype or a late split Stripping down the front end I'll be cracking on with the strip down tomorrow
Para's van is in progress in the back ground Bit more strip down done... had a few other things to do, so not moving very fast at the mo I'll have it all down tomorrow... went out today and got some more plastic tubs today... used 3 so far Then the DAing begins, damn thing has a ton of paint on it tho
There with the strip down... got a couple of little bits to pull out still, but I'll get that done in the morning 8) Pulled the engine and tank, as the engine bay is in need of a lick of paint... engine and tank will get a freshen up too!! Started giving the side a rough DA to see how tough the paint is... gonna take me a few days to get this all off!! Hidden under filler - typical!! : Needs a bit of weld dropping in here too Dash all stripped out... Just got to pull the steering column and gear shifter, and a bit of electrics to sort!! More tomorrow
Mega session today!! Arch repair going in Almost invisible... gonna have to skim some filler back in as the B pillar has taken a beating with a poorly profiled repair!! Fixed a couple of rusted out sections on the front gutter First stage of DAing the lower sides down... Taken the top coat off down to the previous top coat... damn stuff is hard!! Dash top has filler in it.. explains the cracks in the paint, but not why it's there Popped some Riv-nuts in the roof to re-attach the awning rail with... More tomorrow
Its always a pain finding those hidden nasties but the bus will be a lot better with you sorting them properly paul Do you know what paint was used previously to go on so thick? hopefully its not enamel dude
Well it kinda smells like 2k... but whoever painted it did so in a way that has astounded me... I've got primer in some areas, and virtually none in others... kinda looks like someone put a coat of barcoat on, then top coated straight over it Plus I'm taking it easy on the bottom half of the van, as I don't want to have to redo all of the filler work that is already there!! I'll just strip disc the top half as the paint is pretty thin
