  1. Proper job as usual Paul, looking very smart

  2. You only need the lightest mist of etch mark dude its only purpose is to create a bond between the steel and normal primer

  6. Does one have to use etch and if so does it need flatting or can it be primed straight over ??

Thanks - looking good dude :D

  12. If I'm using the aerosol version, then I normally use Upol Acid 8... but that's for smaller stuff, or spot spraying thin spots when I flat back!!

Been rubbing the top half of the van back this afternoon... having to wet sand the roof as the primer is just clogging up the DA disc  so it's taking an age... 2hrs and I've almost done a third

  13. top work there fella

  14. outstanding work as normal paul

  15. Cheers guys

Hopefully have the top half in colour later tomorrow!! 8)

  16. Oi stop making babies and give us an update paul ;D

  17.

Well I've been swearing at the primer that I got... It's taken me 8hrs over about 3 days to flat the top half of the van back... Had to long block wet sand the roof, and it's taken an age... plus fill a couple of roof dents that I'd missed!!

So anyone who's going to do any spraying, don't use Upol 2k high build primer, it's a git to flat back  But it does give a really nice finish once it's flatted back!!

I have, however, now managed to paint the top half of the van... pictures tomorrow

That's it for a few days.. just got to let the paint cure off a bit, then I can prep the bottom half after I've masked up the top half :D

I did find a bit of welding that needs doing before I get into painting it fully first, so I'll get that done in a couple of days too

  19. looking nice, I bet getting it into primer is nice feeling isn't it?
