I use a vinyl fine line tape made by 3M http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-471-Blue-Fine-Line-Vinyl-Masking-Tape-3mm-33m-Roll-/120992255799?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ&hash=item1c2bb34f37 You go round with this first, then mask halfway onto it with normal masking tape!!
I bet your glad to be laying paint on paul Last time i used upol high build primer i found it not only clogged the paper up quickly i found it also had a habbit of sinking over time Needless to say i wont be using it again
Cheers for all the comments guys!! Well as I mentioned I spotted some grot in the rear arch when I was doing my final prep before etch and primer!! So I'm now ready to prep for top coat, I thought I'd best get it sorted... popped out and got a new bottle of gas... loads cheaper than BOC too The grot in question... It was hiding under some rubbery coating - could've been some seam sealer Doesn't look too bad from the inside!! Time to fire up the plasma Pulled the whole lower section out, as it reduces the amount of welding!! Just needs a tidy with the thin cutting disc now, then it's fabbing/welding time I'll get that finished off in the morning now as I smoked the shed out cutting that with the plasma
unfortunately so... all sorts of low standard repairs to this... I think it was a "do it cheap, max profit" job
So after welding up my old mans jeep for its mot, I managed to find some time to get the back arch welded up!! Tidied up Bit of fabbing 8) Welding it in Tidier than it looks... seam sealed after welding More tomorrow
Notched up some more work on the van today... not at full speed as I'm nursing a cold Painted the arch repair in some Acid 8 primer Shall give this a coat of stone chip once the top coat is all done!! One pic for salad.dodger... All bagged up Bottom half prepped for paint A few thin spots, those'll get a bit of spot priming before top coat A touch of top coating tomorrow then
Have you a close up picture of the wall ? it looks like a work of art... btw do not get spray on it... ;D
I don't think so... although you should see the outside... those stone masons had some skills when they built the building, some 150 years ago... there's no joints larger than 10mm on the whole outside of the building!! I got some colour on the bottom half, although I'm not 100% happy with it, so I might DA it back once it's dry and give it another coat of paint!! But here are some pics for your perusal 8) Will have a closer look in the morning, and make a proper decision then
