My plans haven't worked this week but supposed to be doing some tonight - going to be cold out there :cold:

Did 15 miles last week though, so gradually coming together.

  3. gonna be very cold down here they just give out weather warnings for ice on the runway tonight

think i might try and get up early for a short run tomorrow

  4. I think I've decided to start running again. I did the 2011 London Marathon as some of you may remember (a couple of you donated to my cause) which was the culmination of an eight-month training plan from the sofa upwards.

However since the big race I've ran precisely four times. I've also put on most of the weight I lost in training and up until two weeks ago I was properly back on the fags.

So, I've stoppped smoking (and have had the worst cough since I did) and am now going to revist adidas micoach to get me back on the road. I need to find a race though, as 1. I need to work toward a specific goal and 2. I really enjoyed the three races I did in 2011 (a 10k, a half and the big one). In fact I'd advise everyone that's jogged to enter a proper race; you get a great atmosphere, friendliness and a real sense of acheivement. Makes all the lonely miles worth it.

I think that me putting it in writing here will help me take that first chilly step on the roads of Essex.

  5. totally agree with the race thing it feels really good to finish a race and it really doesnt matter what place you get its all about the run :D

  6. Really tempted to enter the Newham Classic 10k, but that's just two months away.

I did the Newham London 10k (similar name but different race) last year in 57 minutes and would be gutted if I didn't improve, especially as I'm no longer trying to avoid injury before anything else.

Can I go from unfit to sub one hour in two months? That's the question.

  10. I've just got in from my run and I reached my goal of running half way around the lake without stopping

I felt much better tonight with a snood wrapped around my face and generally felt much fitter which has encouraged me to go running Friday too ;D
