So coming back from cornwall on sunday we pulled into the michaelwood services on the M5 for a break, I noticed oil splatted up the back of Beryl and oil on the floor so I got under and found that one of the little studs holding the sump plate was lose, I tried to tighten it up but it just started spinning and fell out and more oil came out, I was lucky we pulled in coz another few more miles and it would have been kaput so the only thing to do was ring the AA, It was about four pm and they sent a contractor to pick me up, little did i know that this was going to be a long day as it seems nowadays that they only take you to the edge of there area then drop you off at a services to be picked up by another truck, We had three trucks pick us up and got back home at half three in the morning, I fixed it in five mins next day.

  15. noooooooooo! breaking down in petrol station is a bad one. Happened to us on one of our first camping trips-
ours was the alternator. Your van looks cool on top of a lowloader though ;D

she did drive on , so kept a little dignity.
leaking carb was the problem, a bit to risky to attempt the drive home :)
