What size bungs did you use Snotty? And that thread tickler looks interesting.

  2. The 60mm ones of these. I clipped the "ribs" off with a pair of slim wirecutters. They fit a treat.

Stud-fixer was this. Some of mine were cross-threaded and beat to hell. Quicker/cheaper than stripping the hubs off and replacing studs. Works really well.

Interesting. I bought the 55mm ones of the same - they haven't arrived yet. They might need a bit of help to stay in then.
    Just tagged the thread thingy.

  4. 55mm might be a bit loose, but a couple of blobs of mastic should hold them in.

Also got a cheapo M14 x 1.5 tap to run through the wheel nuts (quite soothing). A fair amount of crust came out of them.

A useful tap. I bought set of 2 from AB Tools. I ran it through all mine too.
    Mastic is a good call.

Drove down to L'Eree and posed in front Lihou Island about high tide. There used to be a priory on the island many moons ago.

  11. Your new boots may not last long. Take your old boots off and soak them in silicone spray. They’ll come back to life! They’ll be better than any new ones.

Hope you didnt knacker the old boots or throw them away, if they were not split, they look good in your picture.
If you bought boots that cost £10 each or so , you may need the old ones soon... My record was 3 months..

In other words, a manipulation of the original boots to move the existing grease around may have been a lot less faff than the path you have taken.

And buy a set of the Schnorr lock washers and torque the bolts up to the proper 28 ft lb , to avoid the "engine spins- cant drive syndrome". If the hex drive chews the bolt, get new ones..

  15. Wasted an hour of my life trying to get my Sealey pressure bleeder to hold pressure. Gave up. I might chuck it straight over the fence.

Got spare tyre out, dropped pressure to 10psi, ordered an Eezibleed from Screwfix. Not as fancy, but at least stands a vague chance of working.

  16. Sealey is cheap Chinese tat, it used to have a half decent rep but it’s just garbage in optional livery these days. Clarke, sealey, facom to name but a few. The Empi of the tool world of you will...

  17. Eezibleed however, consistent as gravity

  18. Yep, used to be good, now the same Chinese tat as everybody else.

Is it just my terrible untidy wiring (since cable tied into something vaguely resembling neatness) or have I messed up? I don’t think I have, but always the possibility; please do say if I’ve done something liable to incinerate my camper!
