The All New, New "What have you done to your Bay today" thread.

  1. Had the van 2.5years now, finally getting some serious mileage in, a more flexible role is allowing longer periods between shift patterns, just completed 680 miles of great motoring.

Had a dodgy ignition switch twice which resorted to me linkking the starter out.

Ironing out all the creases still. [IMG]

Stuck my bigger ones in with mastic today. Should be ok. Didn't want to knacker the spring in the diverter valve.

Some new grease nipples for the front beam arrived yesterday. Decided I couldnt be bothered to get dirty as the flattened 45 degree one (how ? ) on the steering pin box is still holding grease.

  11. In that rain I'd have already been at home.

  12. Depends how much skunk you've blown, innit Snots?

  13. With the MOT due on Monday put the front end up on axle stands. Whipped the front outer wheel bearings out (replaced a couple of years ago) and re-greased them. Greased the beam, must get a new grease gun for the next time (anyone recommend a cartridge grease gun as hate filling the basic sort) Cleaned a couple of small rusty bits in the wheel arches, painted them with Bilthammer rust converter and Bilthammer zinc paint. Put some Dynax in the sills and jacking points.

Tomorrow will put some black Rustoleum over the grey zinc paint and I might explore replacing the old steering coupler if I am brave enough. Ought to adjust the clutch cable and no doubt a few other things will need attention, reminds me need to fill up the brake fluid reservoir.

What happened? Human error or Chinese parts failure?
