Some strange sound proofing going on there? I really wouldn't have done inside the engine bay sides. Damp through the vents will almost certainly get under the sound proofing in time and rot yer panels. Who will benefit from that sound proofing - pedestrians?

  2. If it's "booming " you need to look at the flashband type stuff for the interior panels , sound deadening matting will do just what it says but dynomat (?) or something similar will stop the reverberations...

Ha Ha. Reminds of a time where I stuffed a pair of overalls with old rags and towels and put some wellies on the legs, put them under the van, then went down the pub. Looked like I was working under the van!

Just finished packing, about to discover how she handles in the forecast gales. Enroute to Devon via Dorset.

If your steering is OK provided the indicated airspeed is under about 100mph. ..Just make sure the poptop catches are good if you have any. Or string if there is any doubt..

    Took it camping again
We’re near Stonehenge and have a group of Druids opposite should be fun.

Bled the system nicely (after cutting off Gunson's Schrader valve and replacing it with one that didn't p1ss air out), couldn't get one of the servo unions to seal. They use SAE single flares - God knows why, even the Yanks gave up on them. Had to remove a length of pipe to redo flare...and emptied half the reservoir on my head :(

If they don't go in dead straight, the "bobble" rocks to one side, and they only partially seal. The culprit...

Moved Gusbus' roofrack back by 7 inches precisely as the brackets have proved a rain source inside the bus, next up, sliding door adjustment needs a tweak.

Oh yeah, getting excited about Major's new motor, parts are on order :D

  11. as planned I put some thick black rustoleum over the zinc paint. wire brushed a few more areas and painted them with think black rusoleum as well. sprayed some dynax in some box sections and a bit more in the sills, front edges of the front doors and the pillars that run up behind the front doors. when the black rustoleum was dry sprayed some stone chip over the bits in the wheel arches. polished the sills cleaned the wheels. cleaned the dash. Put the front carpet back in.

adjusted the clutch cable and topped up the brake fluid. now having a coffee before heading back to polish the hub caps.

Good that you sorted it. Is your hair all light and flouncy now?

I hope you managed to avoid it getting all over the paintwork? That would have ruined your day.

  15. now you know what you are doing how about popping round and refurbing my brakes :D

  16. Thankfully missed any paint underneath.

Rest of the stuff with the DIN bubbles was fine - they seal up nicely with a quick nip

Spent time in it at work as usual. Then prepped it as a van for collecting wood to build a "catio" for our indoor cat .
