Pressing is awful, I fitted it and then seam sealed the whole thing, looks good now

 

Someone on here makes/sells a jig for pressing out ball joints.

Easy enough to make to be honest but if you are doing more than one set hardened steel is a must

Had a 40 mile round trip to Cheltenham via the Slad Valley ... Essential work related transport of course! How else could I collect 1.44m3 of insulation?

 

Fitted Dowty washers and dome nuts to the oil drainer plate. Wasnt looking too leaky.. but this makes more certain oil wont leak.

 

Spend an unfulfilling afternoon trying to extract the sidestep bracket from my jacking point. Drill, drill, drill, saw, saw, saw, chisel, chisel. The thing has just welded itself in. 2/3 out, 1/3 to go.

If you've got a sidestep - which are worth having IMHO - and ever anticipate having a puncture, worth checking whether you can actually get the bloody brackets out to jack the van up.

Hammer,blow torch and a vice. That gets them out!

 

Gorilla tape, for the mot.

 

Stripped the front callipers ready for paint and rebuild later on today.
