The All New, New "What have you done to your Bay today" thread.

  1. Today I sat in my bus and read about, 'the famous Poncho Poncho & his Splitty'.
I understand that he's well known in certain circles, but I could find out nothing, anywhere.

    Can anyone help?

  2. I know a bloke called Gavin, if that's any help.

Looked sadly at my heat exchanger stubs, they're not making great contact with the head gaskets. Shiny is where they hit. Came back for a file and had a nap instead.

    New throttle cable

Need a way of getting the tie rods on without them spinning.

    An impact gun?

I have cleaned off the tapers and the recepticle they sit into, ive tapped them home, but they still spin.. Bloody nightmare[IMG]

Tap the top repeatedly with a heavy hammer simultaneously as you tighten. They were easier when they used castleated nuts rather than lock nuts.

  6. Try and pull them on a bit with standard (non-locking) nuts. Hopefully, the taper will start to bite.

  7. Perfect, will try that, going to run a die down them all tomorrow too.

Im using castle nuts and split pins as i prefer them

  8. Unpacked some goodies from Schofields then tried to figure out which piece goes where.

The sills are a jigsaw for another day but the rear valance might get done over the next couple of days![IMG]

Light fittings arrived for my poptop downlighters.
Now need some cooler weather to overcome my apathy.
It was 34 degrees C in the bus with the slider open.
I might mark out the plywood I will fix them into.

    These just arrived :)
2 pinch bolts from the usual suspects would've been £7 for 2. A fiver for 10 of these - room for a couple of cockups drilling the holes. Photos later.

Oh well, it'll be easier to get in and out now without barking your shin or stumbling over it. :)
