He's in quotation marks because he told me he had qualifications and he knew what he was doing. He then fiddled with it for 2 days, charged me a pile of cash and buggered off.
Carbs if what I've been told they're called. Something to do with putting more of something to the pistons. Don't know what. Excuse my lack of knowledge!
Moral of this story: Qualifications mean **** all and don't pay until you're happy with the end result....
There are various screws on the carbs: Air bypass Mixture Jets Idle (which isn't really idle but that's good enough for now...) What carbs are they?
My point being if the carbs were way off before you bought it, surely it would of run like crap all this time?
Depends if the "mechanic" messed about with them yesterday, not actually knowing what he was doing....
He said the mechanic adjusted carb yesterday to fix the gash running, now he saying they may of been wrong since purchase!
Try to stick to the script and be methodical. this approach is going nowhere. Check the leads, check the dissy. if all looks ok then take the filter connection off the tops of the carbs and squirt some easi start or even wd 40 in there. Does it fire? If yes then you might be able to keep it running for a couple of seconds squirting the easi start or whatever in there. Does it do anything, a pop, a bang? If it dies then check the fuel tee, disconnect one of the pipes, turn it over. Does it pump fuel out?
