  1. OOOOOOOOOO, big parcel.... do you feel like a kid at christmas or oh god, more work ::)

But hey its always another step closer .................................................... I think!

  2. Yeah I was happy with my new bits and bobs to fit untill I've come to fit them as the old stuff does not want to move .
I'll plod along and make it all shiny and new but I feel I should paint the new back plates as there only in delivery primer and it will soon rot out ? Hmmmm were my paint brush

  3. Right then after a battle with the rear hub nut it's final off , thank god lol
And I did not hurt my self again yay
But other than that I've striped the drive shaft out if the hub so it can be cleaned and painted and here it is [IMG][IMG]
But I'm waiting to try the backing plates as para said before I paint them too have to say I like the pitted gloss black look :)

  4. [IMG][IMG]
Ow and the hub but got cut of in the end as I would not move even with some of it missing it still took a good bashing to get it off [IMG]

  5. Update .... The new hub nuts have been ordered and I've put the spring plate back on to the splines and fitted the swing arm and hub plus the new backing plate with the new wheel cylinder .
Did try the new disc loosely before I painted all the back plate , thought as it only seems to be delivery primer on it it would not hert to give it a could cost of paint [IMG][IMG][IMG]

  6. Should I paint the new drums black to match just on the out side ;)

  7. Not much off an update but I've had to move the van to get my trailer out so I've put the rear from and wheels etc with out brake shoes and found even after one spline on the rear I only just got the wheel on with a mate pushing down on the swing arm :)
I think it's the lip from the new arch it is hitting it so I'll cut it back a bit and hammer it to then seal it .
Anyway this is how low she has gone
This is the lowered side [IMG]
And this is standard on the drivers side but my drive is uneven
    [IMG]
And the back once on level ground [IMG]

  8. The lips on the new panels stick further into the arch than the originals do dude so just trim them back

  9. Cheers dude I'll get the grinder out its only by about 5 mm maybe a bit more but should be ok I'm happy with the way it's sits on that side

  10. I've final got abit more done on the van only striped the drivers side rear brakes and hubs off the van ready for a good clean and paint then rebuild anyway hopefully get some more done soon as I really want the van ready go soon .
More pics that arn't that interesting

  11. It started the strip down of parts for cleaning and painting last night ,started with the spring plate
    [IMG]

And while I'm here i thought I'd show you the bodge that someone had done to a family members beetle front seat .
They thought it was a good idea to put a spike down the inside of the frame with aluminium wrapped round it to hold the seat together :/
So after I got it all apart I made a new frame only thing is you carn't grind the welds down to much as it may make the 20/20 box section weak.

  15. Cheers dude I'll be happy once the brakes are done and the van is sitting right ,all in good time

And here is the wife's new wheels for her jeep well I say new there the old ones just powder coated .Don't no why this would interest anyone I just thought they looked pretty good even if they are on a jeep :/
    [IMG][IMG]

  18. Where did you get the wheels done Ash?

  19. A mate of mine works at a shot blast and powder coating place . It's pretty good stuff as long as what you want doing is not really bad you get a good finish .
He burns any paint of first then lightly grit blasts them to bare metal ready for coating
