Your typing is pretty good if you're genuinely still dancing around the kitchen.

  3. Need to pull you up there! despite my leftward leanings I don't believe any of the parties have got into "actual facts" but I can see how we might think that!

  4. 'The reds'? Bugger off back to Russia!

If that's the case, there has to be some middle ground then because austerity hasn't worked. Well, not for those it's been imposed on.

Over the years I have grown to despise everything Labour or more to the point unions, I worked for many years in the Royal Mail in an office that was very militant, we were bullied into walking out in dispute over very trivial matters, I remember on one occasion a union rep who was a horrible bit of work was suspended, we were all called out but I stood my ground because I thought it was right he was suspended, I was threatened with violence if I didn't toe the line, I was a young man of 21, married with a baby and on strike for something I didn't agree with, and was told they would smash my f ing head in if I didn't, we were out 5 days and mr bully got reinstated, that was the last straw, I withdrew my subscription to the Labour Party political fund and resigned from the union, I've been a Tory ever since

Bad luck there mate. I got done over by the strikers at Wapping. They smashed me and my truck to bits, but they did that through their own actions, not the unions say so. I just got fixed up in the hospital and then took the police right into the middle of the group at the gates and pointed them all out one by one. I then pushed hard to get them done. The only help I had was from a lad that witnessed it all. They still got away with gbh and criminal damage. I got FA on a stick. I still know who to blame though!

  7. Poor thing! Nothing quite as exciting but I contacted my Union to advise I needed to cross a picket line to get to work. They told me to cross. I called my boss, he said not to cross it! I kept my job, didn't cross the line and changed unions. But then again that was the EETPU.. nuff said!

  8. Incidentally. is it Strong and Stable leadership to dump a flagship manifesto policy after 4 days do you reckon!

@Dicky i think it is quite brave , maybe more leaders should take a leaf and admit when they've got something wrong

  10. Did that not change to the AEU or something?
Thatcher kilked off the unions in this country during the miners strike. I only wish more could have been sone to help them. That was the beginning of the end of British steel too in my mind so the knock-on affect was massive & we are probably still feeling it. The unions around today are very watered down versions of what they used to be & are more in-line with what management want than opposed to them.

When I first started work the union guy used to say if we kicked off too much we would get closed down. The only strike we had was one day for the nurses.

  14. Think about it man. They called the election, they had time to plan. They had longer than labour to put their manifesto together (they knew what was coming) and yet they still thought this was a good idea. Doesn't that really bring their (her) judgement into question! They have costed nothing and simply play on the unpopularity of the labour leader. They have told us that the Labour sums don't add up and labour have challenged them to independent scrutiny which they wont accept. She wont debate. her policies are mean and anti-working class. What is to like. She U turned on Brexit, she U turned on becoming leader, shes now u turning on her own manifesto. STRONG and STABLE...Really?

  15. Unless they're not a Tory, in which case it's a sign of weakness/lack of leadership...

The eetpu were more middle of road union used to strike deals with companies and very rarely went on strike to the point that they fell out with the tuc they started merging first with the mechy,s union then scientific and so on until today they are now known as unite problem is the more they merged the more left wing they became

  18. De-industrialisation was the answer to Trade Union Power. It decimated industry and moved us towards a service industry economy. Were now dealing with the fall out from that as we don't have enough manufacturing or the ability to do it here. its actually, in my view one of the major reason we shouldn't leave Europe because we don't really have a manufacturing industry of any great weight.

    just edited!

@Dicky she didn't u-turn on Brexit she was a remainer and still is, but the people the uk have democratically voted to leave, she and the Tories have an almost impossible job of negotiating an exit from Europe that is going to please everyone, and if Corbyn and labour get elected they too will

  20. the irony eh. to think Corbyn was accused of not putting his heart into the campaign as he was a closet Brexiter! lol (sorry baysearcher). I get your point but im pretty confident the outcome will please no-one. Lets put the fact that she took on the job of brexit down to pragmatism. I do hope so!
