So got a little bored and started looking at ebay, i have just seen someone selling twin carbs that's caught my eye, should I look to move over to carbs or stick with the FI? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143622323159
Get what you have working first, otherwise you risk compounding one problem, with another. After that it's your money, your choice
I'm sorry I know nothing of F.I. Post lots of photos of your installation wiring and vacuum pipes etc, someone may spot a mistake.
I just went through some old samba post ( they are very uptight over there) found a post with he exactly same issues but of course no resolution. I know the it's not stuck and I tested the fuel pump by having the ignition on and pushing the flap.
Knowing nothing of FI.. and this is prob why I've avoided it.. do you still get 12v at the coil when you plug your AFM back in?.. might be shorting something if your wiring is wrong.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
It went before...so it must be something you've wired or plumbed wrong? You have some exhaust leaks too I think.
Must be but I've looked back at videos and photos and think everything is back in correctly. So what you're saying is I should buy carbs I'm going to have a hunt online for images of the wires the Bentley isnt very helpful being black and white
FI is better than carbs, you have it and it was working before so it'll work again. Is your cold start valve working?
I just remembered I swapped my thermo time switch for a cleaner one I had going to be a nightmare to get to but I'll swapping that
I know precious little about FI as well, but when I was working through my 411, I used the fuel injection resources from ratwells site. http://web.archive.org/web/20030422150443/http://web.mit.edu/kaefer/www/ljetd.html There are other articles on ratwell.com as well.
