I think we've been taught a lesson by mother nature in that the world is a lot better without us , cleaner , loads less polution but sadly it don't seem to be that we haven't learnt that lesson

Nearly 60k excess deaths may be telling us we got something badly wrong.

I’m not sure they are everywhere. My partner was suffering with breathlessness and a blood test showed she had lung and leg blood clots and was sent to A&E. They did no test.

  4. Speaking as someone who has had it Steve I can assure you, you don't want to catch it. I probably caught it from our daughter (a nurse) though there's no real way of knowing, she got over it pretty quickly and was soon back at work but I was completely poleaxed by it. Touch wood luckily I'm in good health with no underlying issues but I can't imagine what it's like for people who are already suffering with something. For 3 weeks I couldn't do anything, literally it took all my energy to get out of bed and slump on the sofa. The slightest bit of physical movement bought on a hacking cough that had me doubled up, I ached(and I mean ACHED) from head to toe, I had zero energy (I could fall asleep just sitting still) and my sense of taste, smell and appetite disappeared, I had to force myself to eat and drink just because I knew I had to. I've never felt so ill for so long, I wouldn't wish it on anyone(ok possibly Donald Trump buy apart from that)
    Stay safe:thumbsup:

Ps. I forgot to mention the fever bit when I was lying in bed with sweat pouring out of my burning head yet feeling freezing cold despite wearing pyjamas, a t shirt and socks. Luckily that only lasted a couple of days:(

You don’t know what her situation is though, maybe she visits people at risk and can’t get shopping collection. Granted she should have decided what pop she wanted quicker, maybe it wasn’t there? Maybe the look was because she’s infected!!! (I’m sure she wasn’t)

  6. They will be ok ..;)
No one's god, has let them die....

  7. Living on a boat in a marina in a small community is a lovely way of life compared to most folks who live in towns and cities and high rise flats.

This lockdown thing is not much fun agreed, I also live alone in a small community but there are lots of walks and open space locally for me to enjoy and I try to make the best of it. I don't like to see my Bay sitting as an ornament on the driveway, but I am self isolating for health reasons and I am staying that way for a while yet.

Life is a challenge at the moment but its about having to adapt and make the most of what you have. Try walking the local area and enjoy the wildlife, it should cheer you up.

Granted I don’t know her situation but the fact she dithers whilst shopping isn’t my problem. I want to get in and out in the shortest time possible in normal times; even more so now! If she was infected, I’d be more likely catching it following her around at 2m than swiftly walking past..

a man walks down the street ( its not a song) collapses 200yds from the hospital and despite immediate attention dies of heart failure now this man lives 5 minutes by bus away and 20 minutes walking . When he started feeling a small pain decided not to call an ambulance but to go by bus - However because he had just missed he decided to walk The buses normally would run every 15 minutes but were cut back to 30minutes that,s why he decided to walk
Is that classed as a needless corona death ? It's a true story though there are some assumptions

60k extra deaths are just that whatever the cause.
The government stopped putting out figures comparing countries due to different counting methods and said we best wait and count excess deaths.
So I suppose government apologists will now say to not count excess deaths due to us having the highest rate.
Or maybe in other countries people don't walk down the street and die.

  18. Crikey! Glad you ok mate. Not had this I don’t think but have been mildly unwell.... had all the symptoms at some point but never at the same time. Daughter has been shielding since early on yet still managed to get mumps... it’s the luck of the draw. Had swine flu when that was prevelant but not as bad as some. That saw off a few but nothing like this.

    all the best mate!,

I think the whole thing is mad in an abstract way... if you said to people last November that this would be a thing and this would be the extent of it they would have laughed at you and walked away.

Amongst the plentiful negatives I think we should all be trying to find the positives. The earth did breathe a bit better for a while, some of us get to see our children develop daily, the new ways of working may be better for our long term health, my 136k mike Golf gets an additional 3 month reprieve...

I’ve got a bit narked by the idiots. I live in Hayling Island and have seen the beach fill up, watched a couple of kite surfers get carted off in the blood wagon and thought, that maybe just a little more restriction would still be worthwhile!

We had a bunch of 10 or so 16/17 year old on there 50cc scooters going up and down the road the other day before the restriction was lifted a bit. With a quieter road than normal they were messing around and one rode into the other... so they all stop, take off their helmets and congregate in someone’s driveway to put the fairing back on. Not a care in the world it seems.

Today, I’m enjoying my garden and a tidy driveway, in solitude in good weather. I have the headphones on so I can’t hear the traffic or the dog barking. I might go and grab a beer

    small positives.

I'm doing it for the neighbours, Ellie and Bob. He has a failing quadruple bypass, she has COPD and regular bouts of pneumonia. So far so good. They are just one example, 10ft away there's a chap with diabetes and a colostomy. Bunch of cronks here. The marina took the road barriers down today and despite it being a private marina it's like Piccadilly Circus with cyclists, motorcyclists, dog walkers...makes me quite cross really.
