Went up to SGS Aircooled in the bus to have a chat and book in for an MOT on the way home from work, after a quick blast through the edge of the South Downs National Park.
Found them busy trying to make a Beetle fitted with a last-minute 1641 with twin Dell 40's sound exciting for their stand at Beachdubbin on Sunday. Was sounding like a vicars tea party. I believe the exhaust is being worked over now.

The proper engine for that car released piston ring pieces during an oil change .

we cant make it to Beachbuggin again this year

 

Fixed the oil temperature sender which stopped working on the way home from SGS.



Its a tinned brass tube with fittings soldered on the end inside the plastic bit.
I snapped it by kinking it a while back. Finally gave up today.

Back together now




Also re greased the squeaky front brake shim.

 

Got offered 8k for it.

 

Good that justifies my £9k agreed valuation

 

Hope you took it, the bottom has fallen out the market for old rotters.

Thought it was an auto-correct error, I live in Rotherham and try and avoid coming back.

 

Tried out the new sun canopy - seems a bargain for £50. Bunting courtesy of Mrs P - I took it down as soon as she went back indoors.

Also works as a weather break if needed

Thrashed back from Bournemouthfordford in the pouring wind and rain, loaded to the gunwales with crap. Never missed a beat. I might forgive him his earlier...indiscretion.
