Flat pack bay kit was £1,350. That’s the cabinet along side, head banger and board to go under bed. I was going to price up what it’d cost me in materials etc as a comparison.

  2. Going by everything you’ve done so far I’d say make one yourself

  4. If you make it yourself you can build it to suit your exact needs and it will be one of a kind.

  5. If you can afford it, buy it. Life’s too short.

  6. Ta... I'd like to claim the seat re-covering but it came like that.. don't think my sewing skills would match Mr Ley

  7. It’s a big chunk of change, does that include hob/sink & fridge or just the cabinet? But like snotty said, life’s too short & it would get you out & camping pretty quickly

That’s just the cabinets. I’ll let it stew at the back of mind for a bit.

Discovered that its now regularly doing 23 mpg after a trip up to Queen Elizabeth Country Park, all it is that the new engine has run in and I am probably driving it a bit slower still. no maintenance for a while now.

Got an ultra lowered Peugeot 307 to fix instead. Daughter reversed hard into a kerb and a bit later the suspension spring snapped. Just as well its another GSF money off event. £72 of parts : springs and shock absorbers on their way..

Drove to the Husbands Bosworth Festival and had a great time.

However on the way home and at junction 24 there was a bang followed by knocking.

Drove off the M1 without issue and into the services at Castle Donnington. A check of the van was made and appeared to be in order so we went to continue the homeward journey when the offside drive shaft bolts sheared in the hub.

Couldn’t fix it so came home in style.....again

Got to get new bolts and a spreader plate plus lock washers. One stud is still sheared in the hub and I’ve got to check the condition of the threads in the other 5

  19. Bugger ....

When you rebuild it smear the threads in silicone - you know , the bath sealer stuff .

Stops them from working loose , tried and trusted by many I-O-M TT riders and it works ....
