The All New, New "What have you done to your Bay today" thread.

Well this is what I understood from a recent post about filling the Blackwell tunnel with black smoke from a 50/50 mix ... but I don't think my VIP (very important passenger) would have appreciated it .... and I didn't fancy not knowing what damage I might be doing

 

Connected the thermostat correctly, spring under tension. Tried to start it but timing out due to removing dizzy so no joy.
Got rained on, again, gave up and collected daughter from uni (plus huge amount of stuff) in car.

 

Took it for a run through the Lakes down to CumbriaVAG show at Crooklands.

 

I know it’s not a bay but just finished this one at last, thanks @Louey for the recommendation, I owe you a beer or two

 

Was that the one roller painted in rustoleum dunc?

I did. Pricey, but seems well-built. We'll see.

 

We'll see. Might have unfairly blamed my reworked carb jetting on flat-spot issues, but may have been my 15 year-old Brosol pump expiring.

Sorry not a Bay engine, but it is a Volkswagen engine.

My WBX 2.1 done and ready to go back in my bus, it sprung a leak on one of it's water jacket seals. It’s taken me three months, mainly working on it on the weekends and have installed new pistons, piston rings and new cylinder heads with new water jacket seals and renewed all of the engine coolant system.

It’ll either purr like a kitten and pull like an elephant or sound like a bag of spanners when it goes back in !
