Sounds unlikely that amount of water could get in through the slider onto the floor!

Hmmm, I’d been ignoring that fact and concentrating on the obvious fix, but yes I had considered it. There’s definitely a small hole somewhere in the passenger wheel arch as the wheels spray the rain off the road and it drips down the front of the tub. I’m pretty sure it’s under the seat rails as I can’t see it (but I know it’s there!!). I guess it could be heading backwards too and through one of the myriad of holes in the bulkhead?
I need to go out in the dark and try to shine a light under the seat rail and see if I can spot any pin holes in the wheel arch. It’s been on my to-do list for a year or so, but forgot to mention it to the welder and he sprayed under seal all over the wheel arches!

  5. Bugger, my door seal is on the wrong way round. I spent ages pondering too, looks like that was wasted time.

  6. Think you'll find its the M27 causing the leak.
In torrential rain, keep off the M27 and it'll be fine!

  7. Straight/vertical lip on the front, curvy lip at the back.

  8. Normally not a problem for me, as as soon as I approach the M27, they close it...

The trick is to realise that on a dual port engine the Taylor seals dont fit in the tinware holes. So you pull them back up the plug connector covers so they rest on the tinware outside. And not pressing too hard or they work off the plug... see my three cylinder comment above.. yes Taylor leads.

My slider has a small gap between the door and the seal at the lower front edge and doesnt let in water in heavy rain.

You can move the top front of the door in and out by loosening the nut under the roller, and the bottom front by loosening a couple of hex screws underneath the bracket and the screw at the front. The top adjustment is easy.. the bottom one is harder as it tends to to slip if you dont do up the screws very tightly.
I expect that at 65mph the door is lifting away from the body slightly so it leaks far more.

    A Techenders job.

I’ll have a new seal by then so could use some help with that, and proper adjustment would be great Cheers!

She only lets 5 vans or so on so loads of space and even has its own fishing lake all for £8 a night

  17. Replaced the fuel line as the outside had started to crack.

Also fitted a cut off valve and metal filter outside of the engine bay.

The cable ties are only a temporary fix.

  18. Also fitted the leisure battery back in, that was quite a fight, I have a feeling when the engine bay chassis top was fitted, it was fitted slightly higher than previously, probably don't need the battery clamp, as it's such a tight fit.

  19. Isle of Wight odyssey continues. Starter solenoid issue has temporarily gone away, I say temporarily, as guaranteed when flagged onto the ferry, it'll be back. .
A new starter arrives tomorrow, so I'll just drive around with it in the van for the next couple of years, that will also fix the problem.
Other than that, usual duties as beach changing room and shopping carrier. Sandown and Shanklin today.
