Good lord! Thats , er.... unusual!

 

its cross over been told.why got petrol flap,does that make sense,1973 year

 

Passed its mot with no advisory's. Another 12 months of adventure

 

Congrats.

Painted a bit of bonda primer onto the inside of the tophat and outrigger before they are ready to fit.

 

Changed the engine oil, changed the gearbox pan seal (yippee not leaking anymore!) and drove it to the pub got merry and slept in it.

On another note it's still overheating!!! FFS

 

Not a crossover just a late bay

 

HEY - I know this van from years ago !!
Guy in Cumbria had it and put the glass in both sides so he could lay on the floor and look at the grass ,
i kid you not .
Smoked lots and i think this helped with his `inspiration ` , last time i saw him he`d done the slider and was saving up for the other side - glad in a way it got done , he had some great leftfield ideas and the glass was one of the more sensible ones .....

Great lad but can`t remember his name , must be at least 10 , maybe 12 years ago ...

 

The colours, maaaan...

 

Managed to get the new(er) bumper on in place of the old beat up bent one. Unlike the original that bolts straight onto the bumper brackets, the new one however is a pattern part and had a bracket on the inside to bolt to, so I cut the brackets off and drilled some new holes. I know why were struggled last time, the drivers side bumper bracket is bent! need to see if I can find another.

Then took the full length wardrobe out, plan is to drive round without and see if I like it, at least now I don,t have a blind spot. I suppose if I like it I might have to cut the westfalia wardrobe down and put a lid on it.

 

Gave her a wash..

And went to Beumaris, Anglesey!

Took him for a confidence-building romp. He just can't get enough. Flaunted new sidemarkers.

 

Wheel arches going on now. Apparently they were a bugger to fit. All I know is they were a bugger to pay for!

bit more progress on my engine..
the crank didn't want to sitdown into the case, it took 3 goes for the bearings to go in enough.



made sure I got a pic of the gears lining up with the case joint, just to make sure



messed about a bit making sure cam and rotor arm were in sync.
used curil 't' around the case joint and bolted it all up, looks better in one piece, sort of




I will get on with the piston and barrels next....

 

Ps and Bs are easy - you've done the hard bit. Did you remember to put your cam plug in ?

Easily forgotten in the excitement...

 

in the excitement of putting the gears on the crank I nearly forgot the spacer, good job I had my welding gloves on as they were damn hot.........

did find 1 problem, I am using an adaptor for the case and an aftermarket pulley and these come into contact so either I need a smaller pulley or the bolts for the oil pump grinding down to give clearance.....
