  1. Do you know where he got your front wheel arches from?

  2. Managed to get the outrigger plug welded on. Not easy to do and not end up with a facefull of weld spatter.
Just need to figure out how to grind down the welds as its a little tight to get a grinder in.

  4. Was dreading this job, getting the old rusted and rattling heat exchangers off and managed to fit my new Vintage Speed exhaust with equal length manifolds without any problems.

But the old original exhaust that I took off was missing the hanging bracket, I believe it should bolt up to the left side of the exhaust flange.
Is this correct? as in should it only have one hanging bracket. Have looked on online i.e. flea bay and all the major suppliers but I can’t find one. I’m a bit worried the manifolds are taking the whole weight of the exhaust and surely can’t be good for the manifold and cylinder head studs. Failing getting the proper bracket can I get and use a universal exhaust strap to go round the centre of the silencer and hang it to an exhaust rubber hanger, but not sure where to fix the rubber hanger?

Mine doesn't have any hanging brackets, it all hangs off the manifold studs! There are bolt holes in the top of the exhaust for the heat shield (which tends to be missing) and a few holes in the bottom of the exchangers for the cooling tins... whic I guess your equal length manifolds don't accommodate?

  8. Yes there is a hanging bracket that take the weight of the back box ...it uses the flange and goes to the fan housing ..I may have my old one somewhere as I remade it in STST......

Equal length J tube are nice but at that price its a no from me plus you can`t fit the undertins and you need to wrap them to keep the heat away from the heads

  15. Not today's fun but it's taken me 48hrs to be able to talk about it.

Question. What would you like to do on Mother's Day wifey
Answer. Picnic at delamere in the van hubby

    Cool
Not been used since September so up early on Sunday and a quick service and oil change and off we go.

    Running sweet.

    Let's get a posh picnic
so off to Waitrose we go about ten mins from destination

Return to van loaded with picnic goodies

    Key in ignition

Turn and no starter, lights but no noise

    Tools out and hammer starter

    No joy

Twenty odd turns of the key and off it goes

Ah ha I said the well known knackered ignition switch

Not to Let this ruin our trip I drove to the forest and parked up at the top of the car park anticipating a non starter.
It obliged and would not start on our return
A gentle push and I jumped in as it rolled
down the hill and off we went
An uneventful journey home was only marred by the stress of not stalling as it would not restart.

    So
Now I need an ignition switch
