  1. Piston tops are a bit sooty, no other signs of distress. Clumsy pedal-pumping starts with the Dells had fouled the plugs up nicely.

After 5 years, might get round to setting the carbs up again. I'm running mighty rich.

  2. Hopefully I haven't got the "Dellorto dribble".

Had some drips of coolant on the garage floor..tightened up the pipes, banged my head and hopefully it'll sort it out.

  4. I think you may need more than a bang on the head to sort you out Marc

  5. How would you determine if you had or not?

Fixed the drivers side door latch lever in the handle, made out of diecast metal, it had popped out of the slots in the handle, so that opening the door from the outside had become harder. Opened up and the metal had bent and little pivot pegs had worn down so it just popped out and lay flat inside the handle so you could not move it any more.

Its a "preservation parts" handle from a few years back.. totally worn out after 5 years...

Made up a spacer from some stainless steel strip, pushed it in to push things apart after some careful bending of the lever, smeared on some grease, and now I can open the door from outside again.

  13. Easy mistake to make. Profanity helps in these situations

I fixed the back light that was out (dodgy connection), but while I was at it, realised that it was wired so that the brake filament lit when the lights were on, and vice versa. Swapped the connections over so it’s right now.

We’re off to Bonny Scotland on Monday, on a trip to Islay, so generally lots of packing going on, the bedding and cushions are in the house airing.

Looked at the offside heat exchanger where the exhaust comes out. Metal was paper thin or holed from the outside over a small area.
Took it off, welded a couple of patches over the area, once I had worked back to weldable metal. Put it back on. Put everything else back that had come out to get at the pipes going to the heat exchanger.
As I have a solid stainless fresh air pipe coming down from the tinware, that had to come off .. which meant the rear tinware also had to come off and go back on.

…now on to dismantling all the carpentry, doing umpteen bits & pieces along the way that can only be done with better access.

nah, it’s still sat outside, looking sorry for its self. Just got it insured again, so I may go outside and do something with it, when I can walk better..

You start with the longer pipes, then you can cut the flare off to fit the nuts and have another go with the pipe now a shorter pipe...
