I did last Oct. I worked for primary schools for the last 15 years had enough and stated up a small printing (something I knew nothing about) company working from home, I've been very quiet till now but this month I actually took more than I spent and took more than a months wages from my last job.
Had a few more enquiries come in.

You will have to explain how that works mate. Sorry, I'm being a bit dim here as usual, but I don't quite understand!

  12. When i fly my drones and take a photo up there I can't sale it and make any money from it from the photos or surveying farmers fields etc. The Civil Aviation Authority chase you if you do.
By training for my license i can can make a bit of money from my hobby in the process i have to give the CAA a chunk of money for the privilege. It also means i get to buy a bigger Toy, purely for business of course.

Nice bit of kit that. You could make a few quid hovering over Bazza's taxi in dodgy laybys. Bit of extortion to supplement your income

  16. From the relief you are feeling, it already says this is the right move for you.
When the corporates come into a business you soon know things are never the same (despite their reassurances).
I'm sure when you start looking around you'll find opportunities from employers who will value your skills (and hopefully reward) a lot more than you currently have.
    All the best.

  19. It's a wake up call. Grab it by the bo$*ocks. I spent 10 years in a fab job, chasing the $$'$ - dream job. Lost my brother, then recession hit - opted for voluntary redundancy, got it, shat myself.......took it.....I bought a load of old VW's from America....sold them, bought some more & have taken my children to school every day since....BBQ's in the sun because I can...... as I'm not only home when it's dark... moved to a beautiful part of the country and have loved and appreciated every minute as you are only here once and it's not a rehearsal.....Still buy old Dubs & living the dream.... Don't worry - it happens for a reason and all will be great!..

Sometimes I think we stick with the familiar, kidding ourselves we still feel the same way about our job as we did 10 years ago, and when suddenly a change is forced upon us (after the initial panic) opportunities that were probably there all along, suddenly become visible.
Good luck with the new opportunities this has given you.
