  1. @allibus3 you can get the screen and seal out without damaging it :)

check first, that some one hasnt stuck it in place with silicone sealer or something else, by using a plastic tool on the outside to lift the seal up a little and have look under.....do this in a few places to check its not stuck in, If its stuck in, it would be best to cut the old seal out.....or you will end up breaking the screen in frustration trying to get it out!!!

there are some good write ups in the how to section for replacing widows and seals......which might help you getting it back in....

removal without damaging the seals is a little like the opposite of installing the window - instead of using string to pull the seal over the lip, you will need to push/leaver the seal off of the lip towards the outside of the van. In some cases a bit of brute force using your legs can pop the front screen out, but I'd be a bit wary

I'd go for leavering (from the inside) the seal back over the seal lip in one of the top corners while pushing the screen outwards very hard. Make sure you have some one helping you out side so it doesnt end up smashed on the floor!!!, the hardest bit will be getting it started, once you have a small area loose, you can get your hand behind and start pulling the screen out - and easing the seal away from the lip at the same time if needed.

the warmer the rubber seal, the easier you will find it, and using plastic tools will reduce the risk of slipping and damaging your paint

  2. Cool, I'll look forward to giving that a go

  3. PM'd you taypic, any left?

  4. Its a stock sunroof bus but i've never had a headliner in it. Was a westy, but someone took the poptop off, so would of had a wood headliner, but I prefer the idea of vinyl. Wasn't looking for fitting service, you mentione measurements, so thought you meant measuring my bus. If this would work, i could come to you.

  5. If you ask nicely I can post mine down to @Diddymen

  14. I'b really interested in a full length one for my micro bus. Look a nice job. :)

  15. Hi Luke,

yes, I think she has 2 made up ready to go if your interested.

PM me your details if your interested, and she could probably send it out in the next day or so

    Hi Chris,

yes, she can do full length ones - 9 bow hoops?, are there any modifications around the roof or will a standard one do?

She would have to order the material and sew it all up which usually takes 4-5 days to do and get in the post, but we are away this weekend so probably couldnt start it until next week, pm me with your requirements if your interested and I'll ask her

  16. Chris
    Chris,
Did you say she does full length..... How much would one of those cost?? Mine is a tin top so no mods at all....
    Luke

  17. Hi Luke,

just to check, was it the full length headliner for a tin top you wanted, or a cab headliner?

cab headliners are £65 including postage

full length with 9 bow hoops are about £150 (excluding postage) .....but I'd have to double check that price with Mrs Diddymen tonight when I get in.

    regards

    Dale

  19. Do i have to buy a full length tin top one for a Devon or is there a specific one?

  20. Hi Keith,

Devons usually have a separate cab headliner, and depending on poptop style:-

a length of headliner fabric fitted to the 'pop up' part of the poptop, usually stretched and fixed to the frame of the poptop with clips

separate pieces fixed and joined with glue around the poptop opening and rear section (depending on if you have a rear locker)

Side pieces around pop top usually finish just above the side windows, and the edge is hidden with curtain track - or, the whole sides are covered with headliner down to the door cards (a bit more expensive due to the amount of material required and there is a fair amount of wastage, due to the material sizes required)

....but there are always differances :D .....always best to have a look at what you have, or similar vans if yours is a bare shell
