  1. Mrs Diddymen is finishing off a few more cab headliners

....they should be ready in the next day or two

  2. Does she fancy having a go at a full length with sunroof??

  3. Yes please!

  4. Please put me down for one Diddy. The quality & fit look great:thumbsup:.

Could I order some extra material (enough to do down the sides between the curtain rails and pop top)? Please PM me so I can arrange payment.

    Cheers
    Andy

  5. she could do, although she would need either the old one as a template .....or accurate measurements ......PM me with the details and I'm sure we could work something out :)

certainly can mate :) ....she's only got enough material in to do the headliners at present but she can get extra in, in a few days....and can then post it all together

what sizezs were you after for the sides and what poptop is it? - if you are doing the sides you may also need some to do the front of the poptop and the rear of the poptop opening for a neat finish.....I'll PM you a bit later

  6. Hi are these white or cream? Could your good lady supply one that is a foot longer so I can wrap it up into my roof? Also could you supply a 5m of matching material so I can do the rest of the interior?

  7. yep, I'm interested

  8. In the headliner rods Taypic; I have bare metal above me and no idea what should / could be there!

From the previous comments I believe you have to take out the screen to get a good fit, is that right?

  9. That's a good point, daisy1, I have some lining at the back which looks cream but could be just old and off colour!

  10. Hi Daisy1

the headliner originally would have been an off white (which is what we mainly supply/use) 'off white' is a bit lighter than VWpastel white

we can do them in perforated white or black vinyl, non perforated white, non perforated off white

is a foot/30cm longer the exact size you need ?......I wouldnt want to send out anything that is too short!! if you have a standard courtesy light in the cab area, use a bit of string and hold one end at the rear edge of the light and run the string to where you want the liner to end. Measure the string and let us know and we can add that on to the end of the standard size headliner with a little bit more for you to trim to size  ....we can then work out the price for the extra material required and let you know

  11. Hi allibus3

yes, for the best fit you should remove your front windscreen....however, it may be possible to glue the front edge just above the front screen seal....but you would have to try to get it looking neat, a good option would be to hide the edge/hold it in place with a front curtain rail

alternativly you could try tucking it under the front screen rubber carefully.....it would still need gluing and possibly the curtain rail to hold it in place

but the best/neatest/correct way would be to remove the screen

I assume at present you have nothing above you in the cab area? the headliner uses the tension rods to 'suspend' the headliner up, but not in direct contact with the metal part of the roof. The tension rods sit in the recesses /shelf bit above the cab door, the rear and sides are held in place by the headliner retaining clips

  12. Hi

Thanks for the quick response, a foot will be more than enough as I am going to wrap it into the opening for my devon roof then do the rest of te roof and I'm going to wrap around the windows inside the van. I will check tomorrow exactly what I need and I will let you know. Are the a mere to fit?

    Cheers

  13. Thanks for the headliner 'gripper' post, need that, and that leads me onto the next bit, full headliner for a sunroof bus, is that happening?
    Thanks

  14. not too difficult really, just takes a bit of care, a bit of stretching and tucking ....and a bit of gluing

I've just copied the instructions we send out with the headliners into the 'how to' section for those that want to know whats involved :)

    http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/how-to-fit-a-cab-headliner.30028/

She can do  ....she ideally needs a template to make it identical (i.e. the old one) or detailed measurements are you local? (Hampshire)

  15. No I'm in hull and the original headlining was just a cab headliner and I trimmed the back when I fitted the roof.

I am thinking refit the cab liner which is longer than original as the devon roof starts just behind the cab so I can wrap it up and trim it over the roof frame. Then as I say wrap the sides and then the heading around the rest of the roof.

Have you got a rough idea on price please as the van is in a wedding over Xmas and half of it is still bear metal at the minuet :/

    Cheers
    David

  16. I'm in Chertsey, Surrey. Hampshire's a big county tho.

  17. Thanks, screen out then it is! I'll be in touch but priority is engine out for a head job first.

  18. bit far from me to do local fitting or for Mrs Diddymen to come and measure up.....or I was thinking we could collect your old one as a template....or you could drop yours down to us...have you got your old head liner out? ....if you were to post it, we could probably knock the cost of your postage off the cost of a new one and we could use it as a template

is it a standard sunroof model?

a new headliner is nice. ......but its no good if you cant drive your bus due to your engine :D

  19. I'm just looking for a guide on how to get the screen out, nothing like being prepared eh? Is there a way of getting it out without destroying the seal or is this false economy as the screen is more likely to break.

I know a new seal would be wise but mine looks pretty new anyway and I'm trying to keep control of my spend on the van.
