  1. Could i order a cab headlining and then the rest when i get the measurements sorted? the reason i ask is its off for the respray tomorrow, supposedly back in 10 days or so and it lives outside, so as soon as it comes back i need to get the glass in and i had forgot about the headlining needing to go under the rubber

  2. Hi Dale, standard full length would be excellent. I'm good with the price too. No rush let me know when you are ready. I got loads to get on with anyway. :)

  3. PM sent

As soon as we get back next week, Mrs Diddymen will get started on it  ....and I'll let you know how long it will be (usually about 7-8 days if she has to order the materiall)

  4. Cheers Dale no mad rush M8. :) Its a firm order even if it takes a month. :)

  5. Fitted mine a few weeks ago, highly recommended.
Need to order the rest for a Devon now

  6. Nice work

  7. nicely done mate

  8. @Diddymen the headlining in my Westy van at the moment looks to be just stuck onto a piece of ply or similar and held on the sides by metal tracks. Similar to how kick panels are held in place. I've no reason to believe that this isn't how it came out of the factory as it all looks very stock but could you shed any light on this? Would I need to buy the rods you mentioned on a page further back if I was to purchase a headliner from you?

  9. From your description, it sounds like you may have had a plywood headliner held on with 'J' clips .....it was probably starting to look tatty so a previous owner most likely glued some headliner material onto the boards. Some vans had this as standard while others had the perforated fabric and tension rods.

If you want to go for a vinyl headliner which is not stuck to wood, then you will need the rods as these are what holds the headliner 'up'

  10. If i remember correctly you were making a prototype for your Devon, how did it go?

  11. Ok
Ok thanks. Anyone with spare rods etc?!

  12. @Diddymen
What's the all in price for a cab and rear (Devon) headlining full kit?

  13. Thats a good question lol!! I'll ask Mrs Diddymen for a rough cost when I get home, but she might not know the price of the rear Devon part until she has prototyped it on mine

...I'll hasstle her tonight and see if she can get it started ASAP then I can get some pics up and see what you think

  14. Drop me a pm when they are available for sale and i will order one

  15. @Diddymen how many rods n caps would I need to complete the job?

  16. I brought 2 of the rods from VWH after searching for a substitute, and asking on the forum for ages for spares.

I still think they are very expensive for a 3mm rod, what I didn't look at was welding rods but I'm unsure if they come in these lengths.

The cab needs 2, one slightly shorter than the other, but I don't think the Devon bit will need any as it's a big hole in the roof ;)

  17. Will do

As allibus3 said - 2 rods for the cab headliner only - full length ones will depend on how many bow hoops (seams) you want - usually 7, 8 or 9 for a full length

you will need 2 rubber caps per rod

Welding rods might not be 'springy' enough, you need the 'spring' to keep the tension

  18. Cheers guys

  19. If you have any rubber caps left over I'm in need of 4
