  1. Like with all coatings spend the time with prep and the applying is the easy bit

  2. That took me a good 8 hours to prep that cab and two hours to apply the coating
At £40 per hour for a restorer to do it that would be £400 plus consumables and product plus vat
So it would end up at about a grand

Best advert ever for giving it a go yourself?

Maybe @earlybaybob has a franchise company he could reccomend

  3. I've just done this engine bay...

    On a roll now!

Considering how bad the floor is, the chassis and top hats are in fab condition.

Knackered now, it was too rusty to identify spot welds for drilling out so it was chop with a bolster and lump hammer.
    More tomorrow

I once quoted £2k to replace that floor. Correct, I didn't want to do it, there's no room in there, it's a young man's job.

I'd have to have a week off to recover so my price was about right I think. :D

Still bodging Mr Mick? Times have moved on and the value of these crap old things has gone up 10x since you last looked, you should repair it properly. :D

  17. I've done this couple of times in my line of work when we didn't want the job, wildly overpriced it then got the job anyway!

Note to self. Put prices up!

I also made it clear I didn't want to do it and that was why I priced so high. Just in case.
