This I generally agree with, although we need a clear and tight definition of what constitutes trolling. Preferably with examples. One man's "blatant trolling" might be another man's "thought-provoking counter-argument". And does someone have to complain for it to count? If nobody puts their hand up to claim that they feel trolled/abused/threatened then was there really any offence committed? Edit: Just noticed that HorTs's scoring system allows everyone to swear once a day, every day (and twice on Sundays) without ever being banned. Probably not what you intended, Mr. H.
I'm all for harsh but fair punishment. Everyone who posts on here is an adult and so knows or should know exactly what they are typing and why they are typing it. We don't really need 3 strike rules, we should adhere to the law of the land and forum rules. No one 'needs' to swear if its not accepted here, no one should be made to fell inadequate or uncomfortable, no one should be personally insulted, attacked or humiliated. If something happens on a forum that you wouldn't accept in real life then they should be spoken to by the admin, if they don't accept / apologise etc then they should be banned. If they don't come back after their ban then the forum doesn't need them. No one is bigger than the forum itself.
I don't really think that calling someone an idiot should result in a week long ban when I can turn around and say Dave you are a pikey @hailfrank ban me please! who *****s his own mother with a broom handle every night. And get nothing for it?
Superfunky "I don't really think that calling someone an idiot should result in a week long ban when I can turn around and say Dave you are a pikey @hailfrank ban me please! who *****s his own mother with a broom handle every night. And get nothing for it?" Just practising my sums.....I think that would get you 10 points= a week ban. Reason? abusing a forum member.
