Does the engine come with a suitcase full of 1970's period clothes too ...purple flares ,orange and brown striped penny coller shirts and a pair of platform shoes ?

Those of us that actually have experience of the conversion barely mention it. It's just a bus that's been made a bit better (in our opinions).
For some reason, every now and again, you get some old troll who decides to have a pop to get a reaction. To be fair, I fall for it every time, and end up replying.

    Subaru engines are rubbish

  10. Should we be discussing the nuclear deterrent and the merits of a Subaru engine to replace the nuclear propulsion system.

If you were told to push a bus for a mile ...I think we would all be happy with anything that would power the bus .

    At last
No I'm not,the Subaru engine was clearly not meant for a T2 camper, anyone that fits one should be put in stocks and pelted with custard covered sponges

We all like buses. Maybe we like different things about them but at least we're all keeping them on the road by one means or another.
And the demands of 'modern' road networks and traffic, and capabilities of cars that use them is ever changing so I can understand modernisation. I'd rather not sit in between huge HGVs getting buffeted around but for now that's part of my ownership unless I've the inclination and resources to do something about it, accepting the compromises that one change might create compared to the compromises that an old vehicle demands.
We'd be better off having a pop at the industry that extracts maximum profit out of a demand for old stuff to fix them.
If people find a way of making a bus work better for what they want, more reliable, less dependant on scene tax parts, or mod it for style, whatever their reasons and mods, whether I like them or not doesn't really matter to me much, I still like seeing what people are up to.
