  1. Just a thought but Tlb was in trouble of financial failure but heads where scratch and the problem was duly avoided.
You say a new political party is needed.
There may be a solution staring us in the face.
    Maybe just maybe

    The perfect solution!

When the country's in trouble, ask the public to cough up, i.e. raise taxes.

    Um ... er ...

I think Liz’s next tactic is to ask the nation if they’d put there hand in their pockets and contribute a tenner

Made me smile listening to Jacob Grease Mog on radio 4 yesterday berating Truss and kwarteng for tax cuts that benefitted the wealthy and not the needy. I'm sure some people can't see through them but that took the biscuit.

  19. The system is wrong. If a PM is sacked or resigns, there should be a general election so the people could decide. Johnson resigns and the current party and government spent weeks in a shambolic selection process which ended up with a bad choice, Truss was their choice and they realise now it was a big mistake which will bring down the party and the government. The Tories are at the end of their long miserable reign, good.

  20. It was the same when Brown took over from Blair as well. The Labour Party had already decided who our next PM would be without the public getting a say in it. That’s wrong as far as I’m concerned. Unless it’s something like an unexpected illness or accident, then the deputy PM should take charge until the election is called. Apart from that when Boris went, when Blair went we should go to the polls. I can’t remember what happened when Cameron stood down, did we go straight to an election or did May just take over?
