If that is the case, then it's no use blaming politicians for the mess the country's in. It's the stupid people who elect them!

  2. Unless you exercise your right to not vote, then yes !

  3. I don’t think Truss will be in place by Nov. She’s finished. All of the crackpot policies that she was elected on have just been undone by Mr Hunt. So basically it’s like they let her have a bit of a go at it, and now they’ve brought in an actual politician to sort out her mess. So basically she’s now the only PM in history that’s out ranked by the Chancellor.

it’s game over. What happens now? Does she have to go to see the Chancellor before making any decisions or statements? Untenable. Finito.

on the bright side at least one of the London removal firms must be making a fortune moving people in and out of Dowing Street. Must be the most secure job in London at the minute. I hope they kept all the boxes.

Well, there is supposed to be a cabinet to advise her and unless she was set up to fail, it's a cabinet policy failure.

  6. Boris came into power based on a manifesto.. that laid out what the entirety of the electorate (47.6 million people!) could chose to vote to support. 14 million supported that. 32 million people voted at the election. (so 16 million or 33.6 million didn't depending on your view on whether non voters are included).

Calamity Jane laid out her vision and got 81326 votes from Tory members (58%). That's equivalent to a town like Bolton deciding on the next PM and their manifesto. whether an election is palatable or not given the current climate its the only way any semblance of democracy can be demonstrated.

Not voting is as much a sin as voting for the wrong candidate. You also lose your right to moan about the government.

  9. Truss was chosen by the Tories themselves based on her promises of growth and making the pie bigger and cutting taxes mainly for the rich which included herself. The voters were taken for a ride big time. These promises have turned out to be unworkable and damaging and costly for ordinary folks and the country. Truss has had a poor past track record in parliament and she was responsible for allowing the water companies to dump untreated sewage in our rivers and seas. She ok'd it. She doesn't care about our environment and now wants to give fracking the go ahead.

Truss is incompetent and if the Tories have any sense, they will sack her today before she does any more damage. She used yes man Kwarteng to propose her tax cuts and when it backfired, she sacked him for suggesting it.

Truss has been forced to reverse most of her promises and now using Hunt to dish out the bad news that we in fact will get more taxes not less and the energy help is only until April 2023.

The Tories have had 12 years of cut backs, hitting the ordinary folks and making the rich richer.

    Time they went.

  11. Regardless of which party you vote for , all politicians are pawns on a chess game. We get feed policies and promises that never come to fruition.
The fact is the country is run and controlled by an elite organisation that very few know about. Events always revolve in a cycle ….. recession and booms

  12. A sin ?

The right to not vote and the right to moan about the government regardless of that is what makes this country Great.

The biggest stroke of luck any of us have had in our lives is to be born British.

  18. You know it’s all about the lizards. You just don’t want to admit it.

what’s always puzzled me is, if I was a master race of controlling space lizards, why would I pick a sports commentator off of the BBC to reveal myself to? Surely one look at the purple shell suit would have been enough of a warning.
