Can't imagine he's not doing something way more drastic than just replacing the carbs as he already has/had the best carbs available for up to 2L bus. Ask him.

 

You do need something like that for that type of linkage, look at the severe change of direction the cable takes where it exits the fan housing.
Other pulleys are available but that combined thing does look very good.
Anything would do like this - drill a hole on the bracket for the cable - would also stop the annoying conduit slipping through the fan housing if you drill the hole right size/place. Where there is a will there's a way, as us tight wads like to say.

At the end of the day it's just a pulley.
Of course, a better way forward if you don't already have that type of hex bar linkage is get a proper one - so many advantages regarding maintenance and jet changing without taking the linkage off and having to set it all up every time.... but that's another story.

 

Did you find out what jets are fitted to the carbs?
Hopefully they are right for your engine otherwise your going to need to shake that piggy bank some more

Yep, CSP bellcrank for me. Almost don't need a pulley as I only have a very slight angle on the cable which straightens out as you press the pedal. Will make one anyway. I like a bracket challenge.

 

Ha! that's true but unless you change vents whatever's in it should be good to go.

 

I wish I could be there, I love this kind of thing and I have a massive collection of DRLA jets.

No can do, I can't drive that far which is why I'm selling the bus.

 

I'd spend the momey on the limebug one, don't cheap out after spending the big bucks on the carbs.

Are you planning on fitting the carbs, linkage etc at techenders?

Did the purchase include the manifolds, air filter bodies etc
