  1. To be completely honest, I had a fiver on him being got at in the first 6 months, I'm really surprised he made it this far. But I guess most of the loons with guns are on his side.

What if he's right and the election was fixed?
I believe he fixed it himself the time before.
Is it always fixed by one side or the other?

The old days were easier for your average pleb like me. There was really only one source of info whatever the truth of it.

I'm reasonably convinced that politics has been as crooked as it is today for centuries. Much worse in the past in fact, far more physical violence at "rallies", far more personal gain involved when the state was so much smaller. 100+ years ago you'd have sent gangs of thugs armed with staves to beat the poop out of the oppositions supporters and scare people from voting for them and both sides were toffs on the take. Not much has changed here apart from labour having some temporary but ever diminishing influence after the 2nd world war. A small blip where things seemed more aimed at promoting the positive for all.

The USA has been lead by teams hiding behind idiot figureheads since the 70's at probably forever so there's nothing new there. Coming from the above perspective I thought the trump was quite amusing in that he just openly in your face lied rather than sneaking about planting stories and all the usual "what us?" shenanigans and openly supported his own personal interests without pretending he was performing some humble public service and trying to maintain a whiter than white image. He just cut out all of that "diplomacy" didn't he? Though he does seem to have overly encouraged by the success of that approach, perhaps his only hope has ever been to stay making the headlines with silly pronouncements.

Obama never made you feel like he’d turning tricks and hitching his skirt got anyone with a Russian accent and billions of dollars.

Still haven’t seen much evidence of him being party to anything wrong per se...whereas the Clinton’s always felt like they would be first to volunteer for the internal cavity search if they gained from it.

Let's hope that they don't take a pot shot at Biden and then who knows what might happen.

  14. I think Trump is just so far over the line he might do anything if he had the ability or access to the means. I think they will quietly sideline him for a couple of weeks until it’s all over! We can only hope!

It's not going to be a fun couple of years for the new president covid is going to take 18mths to sort they are way behind the rest of the world.
Then they can start unpicking trumps plans like selling off the artic for oil drilling

He’s completely unravelling. He’s lost control and he’s running out of time. He can’t handle losing.
He’s going back on things he said hours earlier because he’s desperate and doesn’t like being criticized by pretty much the entire right-thinking world who see through his pathetic games. He is feeling vulnerable to the threats of prosecution and of losing everything. He has no power and no people to bully or boss around or hide behind or to suck up to him and make him feel important. They’re all turning their back in him. And he can’t deal with it.
He’s gone too far and he knows it and he’s trying to go back on it but he can’t.
    He’s imploding.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t push the big red button in one last defiant (well if you won’t let me be captain I’m taking my ball with me) gesture of soon-to-be-lost power.

If they fail to at least arrest everybody who took part so they have to legally explain themselves, then the USA will have lost so much more credibility than Donald has lost it already.

It would be a difficult and even more messy than the 1861 to 65 civil war as there was a North South divide line then.
The bordering states was particular messy as brother fought brother .
I don't know how many protestors are from southern states and how many up north ....think they come from everywhere .....if so, it would be more like the English civil war

He’s a terrible human being. His old man was a terrible human being.

His offspring and their spouses are braying, terrible human beings.

But....he recognises two things, either by accident or design, that are absolutely mirrored here.

Most people will never hate the rich, rich people can get away with pretty much anything.....why.....because very very few of us would turn down the feelings of safety that comes with being rich. Imagine being free of any financial concerns for your or your kids future? Compelling stuff that reaches deeply in to all our primal beings.

Second, those in power don’t like intellectuals. Intellectuals in the public eye are only tolerated by the majority only if they are funny or useful in some entertaining way. So we love Stephen Fry and Dr Brian Cox because they aren’t condescending and make complex things easier to digest.

Those in power fear this, because their best work is done by making things deliberately complex or hiding it in the shadows....so in pretty much every revolution thus far on earth, the royals or military get the good news first, and then the teachers, the media, doctors, lecturers, police etc are taken out second. Why is that? Because those people know where the skeletons are?

Trump attacked the media from day 1. Why was that? Because he knew he was on a raiding party and it was a race to the bottom, eventually he’d be found out....unfortunately it appears his narcissistic nature has forgotten this or his latest meltdown is a huge distraction.

More a concern is why is our government targeting ‘leftist lawyers’, and have been for the last year? Why is Murdoch, and American citizen getting a jab only available on the NHS? These aren’t accidental events.

Our culture has a thousand ways of attacking the more intelligent....geek, bookworm, swot etc....I assume it’s because getting rich can happen to anyone, having intelligence on a higher plain can’t.

So the far right do fantastically with rich people that are either genuinely thick or act it (in the case of the two dodgy blond mop heads both sides of the Atlantic, I’m not sure where the line is) because we allow our culture to prioritise those two things in the last couple of decades.

The left only really come to power when the right go too far, or their candidates are so centrist you can’t tell what they are e.g. Blair.

The left however are screwed from the go.

They target the rich, and they can’t help but lecture the masses.

You are told that being rich is a terrible thing, and you are racist or thick as pig s*** if you don’t support whatever populist bandwagon is riding through town.

Brexit supporters...racist, badly informed, selfish etc etc.

The left couldn’t help themselves....and it led into the lefts secret agenda that most people I think ‘feel’ rather than can put a finger on....the left think the masses need to be controlled and to only think with correct thoughts.

So the likes of Toby Young, Lawrence Fox etc come firing in with freedom of speech, thought control etc. telling anyone that will listen that the left are some form of dystopian overlords....which isn’t a million miles from the truth.

Until the left listen first, talk second, they are forever doomed.

The issue is the far left don’t have the patience, they want an Orwellian future, as long as they are top of the pile. The right? They’ll live happily as long as all the pillars they have finely crafted to ensure they stay at the top (think private schools, jobs for the boys, a bought press, rampant corruption that literally steals from the poor and gives to the rich) are left untouched they are happy enough.

So where does that leave us?

Our futures can’t be run by two party politics and the masses allowing themselves to be so badly informed when we live in easily the most open age of information.

It’s not an accident that so much dis-information is pouring on to digital platforms, that platforms such as twitter allow anonymous accounts when they could easily only allow certified. A lot of mischief happens in anonymity.

    Libraries gave us power.

Books can’t be readily changed....newspaper archives held locally rather than centrally can’t readily be changed.

Do you think your local library being closed was only because footfall was lower??

I digress, the cycle will continue as instinctively we all want safety and won’t listen to anyone that wants to tell us that that comes at a price.
