All back together, and wiping happily even on a dry windscreen; parking nicely at the end.
My wiper arm spindles are a bit worn, but they tightened up okay so that will be for another day (decade) when I can be arsed to take it all apart again (never).
The intermittent option is producing 5 second bursts of wiping nirvana.
I'm almost wanting rain so I can test it.
    (But not really!)

Obviously having fun. Try to keep it as standard as possible going into wiring can upset earth tracking that can be hard to trace.

I trimmed the front arch/beam/whatever. Previously it was a hot mess of red oxide, bits of foam and old headliner.

At some time, I'll do the rear one to match. Ryan gave me some of the trim material so it matches the rest of the van.

This morning the postie brought the Snotty patent wiper fitting kit that lets you use a Golf wiper motor, many thanks that looks like this evening's project.

Are you sure they were in stock.. I noticed a couple of weeks back when suggesting to chuck an Empi filler that nobody had the stock VW style filler in stock.

Today I mostly made my wipers work again, using the patent snotty conversion kit:

Of course then I had to put the heater tubes and glovebox back, which led to some mission creep, cleaning stuff up and investigating dashboard lights that don't.

I'm not one for stickers, and you have my permission to shoot me if the bus windows start to fill up with stickers proclaiming that we have been to Chessington World of Adventures etc, but while drunk and bored at a Golden Wedding do at the weekend, I bought a genuine 1970's Dougal sticker from the bay of fleas. The original sticky had stopped being so, so I glued it to the woodwork behind the tailgate glass:

I drove in the rain, with my wipers on intermittent just because I could, and even though it was patently obvious to anyone who may have noticed, it was raining far too hard for a 5 second delay.
I like to live on the edge though. It makes me feel aliiiiive. Yeah.

Today's update. Silver ring been keeping up and I should be fitting it all back tomorrow. Maybe just leave it in situ to check before I tackle the instrument cluster retaining clips.

Been out and pottered on Major and made a list of jobs to do:

    1. Investigate why one of the 240V plugs doesn't work sorted (a wire wasnt stripped back nor connected).
    2. Put a little inline toggle switch on the rear USB charging points so the lamp isn't illuminated constantly (sorted and working how I want it)
    3. Replace perished screen washer hose and pop in a small non return valve
    4. Find water leak on the windscreen seal and seal up with windscreen flexi sealant
    5. Replace front brake backplates
    6. Replace left hand front wheel bearings for the MOT in January
    7. Sort out right hand rear star adjuster housing (possibly replace backplates)
    8. Renew rubber brake hoses
    9. Brake Fluid change
    10 oil and filter change

I'm sure I'll find more odds and ends in time.
