What's the blue wire with a red connector for, by the fuse box? There's a stray earth wire near the top right too.

The stray earth wire is to go into the wiper motor loom (now connected and working).
As for the blue wire with the red connector - it's to do with the stereo system / digital aerial... I think it is to power an electric aerial, which I don't have so it just hangs around.
I'm doing a spot of tidying whilst I'm in there, so will tape it off and hang it out of the way.

Just to keep @Zed happy with awful bus wiring - this is after I removed many random wires that didnt belong.
I didnt ever use that stripy insulating tape, or generally use insulating tape to bundle wiring..

On the other hand, I took this picture on the way to adjusting the depth of my windscreen wiper spindles- they were sticking out about 10mm too far, causing the mechanism to strike the inside panels.. And also to paint the little bit of metal I used as a bracket extension.

I then did an A to B test on the distributor cap that was on the distributor that caused me grief on the way back from TE. Seemed OK when I swapped it over. So that leaves grounding, points, condenser, wires randomly shorting...

You cannot see the extra fuses because they are in a second fuse box under the steering wheel.

And another leisure fuse box in the engine bay.

To keep it fun, the fuses at the front are all bullet, and the fuses in the engine bay are all blade...

  15. Thanks! All the wires were extended so the fuse box could be dropped behind the kick panel to make way for aircon back in the US. It’s been a job on my list to do for years but haven’t really wanted to tackle it and haven’t touched it as everything kinda works!

Silver ring has dropped off the pace.
Will try re-adjusting tomorrow. At least it's still working and can be used on short journeys as it can be reset the next day if needs be.
