  1. Camping Gas 907 cylinder now cost £47 to refill! So have gone with this now. Soapy watered it. Original devon double ring, on a swing out, never use the grill.
I'll use it with door open and disconnect when finished. 2.7kg of gas £18.

  5. Well screw onto the CP500, but I'm using it with an adapter on the CP250's. The festival stoves that use the 250's are 2.5kW my old stove rings a much slower, so should be ok. 'The Range' shop do 4 for £6

A 907 refill was around €32 (about £27.50) in the local supermarket a couple of days ago. Europe/UK divide.

This is pretty similar to my "temporary" gas feed for my Propex. For extra fun the screw on gas bottle sits on a shelf above the Propex for the time being..- Propex heaters are really cold on the outside..

  10. Mate of mine was up in the Scottish highlands and needed to exchange a 907 for a full one.
The place he found wanted £100 for the exchange and when he pointed out the price was incredibly high
He was told fine good luck with finding one anywhere else.

Calor really have done a number on us making the small bottles almost obsolete :(

  11. The 4.5kg bottles now available again.

  12. Only from main calor depots I was told
No longer available from petrol stations, campsites garden centres etc

    Unless it’s changed recently?

  13. They are seemingly available from more suppliers. I recently ordered and had one delivered for about £35, although I am told that they were about to increase their prices to £40.

After going out this morning decided to take the engine out and redo the pushrod tubes and seals because they were slowly dripping oil onto the heat exchangers. Then looked at the tatty heat exchangers ( bought secondhand about 5 years back) and ordered a pair of Heritage's finest. The 10% Latebay discount was £36.

    Started at 2pm, refitted one side by 7pm .. .. 20240518_180015.jpg

    Cylinder head out briefly..

Fitted rev counter, fuel gauge regulator (thanks @snotty), sorted out dash lights and associated wiring, adjusted tick over with carb balance for good measure. Oh, and threw many buckets of soapy water over it.

Went on with the engine work, paused to find some new oil hoses and fitted them as there was more room to get at various bits and pieces with the engine out, tightened up the other side's worth of pushrod tubes, replaced seals.
Put the engine back into the bus and kept assembling ancilliaries onto it, until I decided tomorrow afternoon will do for completion. After spending 5 minutes trying to do up a 13mm nut with a socket with a nut already jammed in it, I decided that was it ...

Today I replaced the damaged 'Claytonrite' window seal on my rear offside window.

I also re sealed around the middle sliding window seal after removing the filler strip (which I then replaced causing all the sealant to ooze out).

As I did this the wife thoroughly cleaned the inside of the van out to remove the dust and muck from the rust removal/respray work on the side window apertures.

I even managed to fit some rubber in the external channel of the sliding window and cut it flush to try and create a neater finish to replicate the original worn rubber

And fixed the wiring to the fuel pump that the wiring fairies decided that even though it's been in place for about 8 months without issues, would suddenly stop working today when I was about 200m from home (could have been worse... could have been miles away from home). Bearing in mind, it was working fine earlier as I adjusted the tick over and carb balance before going on a 5 mile drive.

    Damn you wiring fairies
