  3. Heat exchangers assembled. Spot welded the crimps in various places as well as voids and leaks. Some liberties were taken and improvisation required.

Now ready for paint. Crusty but original heater bits went through the blast cabinet and just about ready for paint.

Yesterday sprayed some Dynax in the cavity below the screen. Adjusted the wiper spindles to stop the mechanism tapping on various panels.

Today poked some paint on the rear bumper. Needs a better looking at, its going crusty in a few places.

  6. Removed the wiper arms and c clip, sprayed some Wurth 2040 down the spindles and poked them in and out, dribbled some oil in and poked in and out some more. They have been getting a bit slow. I have a complete assembly to go in just in case but this has worked wonders for now. Dont really have time for dash top off etc at the moment.

Indeed, you are supposed to lubricate them from time to time rather than use them until they seize. :)

Probably best if you CBA. I can't.
That reminds me, my cab doors have started creaking again. Time to fill the little wells on the hinges. Not a lot of people know that. :)

Met up with @stirlingmoz who lives close to me. Great to get to know new TLBer. I'd never seen a commercial bay up close before, very nice.

I also passed a bay on my way home, dusty blue colour with white wall tyres.

Went out for a drive with @Chrisd

Two buses in one day

A very enjoyable chance to geek out with another TLB’r.

No one in my house speaks VW so it was a great opportunity to compare buses and ideas for fixing them.

    Cheers Chris

  13. My vacuum hoses were starting to look a bit crusty on the ends so just swapped them all out for some fancy silicone stuff. Yes, black and shiny is fancy to me. I still prefer the traditional look of braided hoses but it could be worse, I did see this stuff in bright pink ...

Refitted the bumper after some scraping sanding kurust and painting. Ran out of white paint so it looks rubbish from a distance getting worse as you get closer. Now to empty out the office for a trip to Bristol to pick up both daughters from university.
One at the end of second year, the other finally having the end of year Stage Technicians Association BBQ but a year late.

On the way back booked into NT Lacock Abbey.

Removed the foldable part of the upper bunk bed and gained loads of space for stuff..... I might one day make a cupboard to fit this new found wealth of space, but until then I'm happy!

  17. Last of the cupboards made and trial fitted in the camper, just need to make the doors and think of something to make the fridge area look better 2ACEA75D-39C1-4620-AFA0-CABE2CEB325B.jpeg
