  1. This morning I fired up the bus for the first time this year.
I'd say it fired up first compression stroke, but it did not.
It took the regular amount of churning for an engine that's not turned over in a couple of months.

Tend to use those small foam rollers whenever possible and perhaps a wipe over with a brush to remove any bubbles.
I always forget to clean brushes so it's normally a cheap set of Harris ones.

  3. Brushes designed for household gloss paint work fine with tractor enamel so should work fine with rustoleum

First your using the brush reasonably wet to put a coat on
Then when there’s hardly any paint left on the brush go back over it lightly with the brush at an angle to the paint
This levels it out and smooths it off
It will then level out more by itself over time and loose the brush marks.
It’s best on a large area to work in smaller sections always trying to keep a wet edge
Once it’s started to flash off and go tacky don’t be tempted to go back over it.

  4. Just been out started the bus, went first turn, drove it five yards forward and six back. It could do with a clean, perhaps tomorrow.

How is your table top attached to the headbanger locker @snotty?
The flimsy bits of plastic that hold mine (courtesy of PO) look like at some point soon they will drop it on my head whilst I'm sleeping (don't fret, I do remove it before having a kip!) but I do need to get on and replace them.

  10. They're these'uns. Not terribly robust, especially the flippers, but they do the job. The original Devon catch stops me being decapitated when braking

Have you still got the original Devon brackets? I might have my old ones (freshly sprayed) in the garage somewhere, which you can have for postage if you want them. I don't need them.

    hahahaha

Definitely not original Devon brackets (well, I'm assuming not - the whole interior is remade around 2000) just a length of flimsy plastic either side. The ebay link looks alright, but if you've got a photo of the original ones and they would still do the job I'd prefer to reuse and recycle; thank you :)

  16. I'll have to have a rummage in the garage tomorrow. Have you got an original Devon headbanger?

All new, although possibly based on the Devon style.
    Much appreciated :)

  19. Slight change of plan...rummaged in garage, then remembered...they went on eBay 18months ago . Sorry!
