  1. Got the classic rear/brake LED's too... quite impressed by how bright they look. Might need to add the high level light though was thinking about it for a while, but its nasty out there

  5. DeWalt, ooh there's posh. I've got a Lidl one. It's so bright it burns your retiners for about 4 minutes and then goes flat.

  8. Lidl bargain

  9. Forgot - the small screws supplied for mounting to the bracket are like something out of a Christmas cracker. But...there are slots in the light for captive M4 nuts (supplied), so better to drill the side holes out to 4mm and use the proper M4 bolts (they also supply). Most odd.

Worth looking around - sure there are better ones out there.

  12. Thanks so much, that is very helpful.

If i can find a way of getting the wire to the light cluster I'll definitely get one. Fed up of people ignoring me braking and indicating!

My headbanger doesn't have any cabinets below it, so hopefully i can find a suitable way to route cables without them being visible.

I've seen some of them do brake lights, indicators and hazards in one light. I Assume that wouldn't be legal unless indicator bulbs flash amber.

  13. Were they the 'Classic LED' ones or ebay?

  14. Could always get one that attaches to the tailgate? The hassle is running the cable down to the rear cluster.

  15. Tailgate isn't that much higher than the rear lights though.

Ill have a look and see if there is an obvious cabling route

I have a low-profile surface mount light on the tailgate below the window, I routed the cables alongside the existing cables on the hinges and then through a grommet into the air vent as snotty described earlier.

I scraped the ice off it and went shopping yesterday. While the crew was doing the hard graft I added a few degrees of timing to make the earlier part of the curve steeper. I think it went better on the way home...hard to tell.

Yes and no. I did the +1 deg button cruising at 1800 revs previously and it accelerated enough to have to lift off the pedal quite a bit so I thought I'd try 2 degs on that part of the curve just to see. Not scientific but to do it properly will take some time when I can be bothered. 2 degs might have been too much for all I know but 1 deg did make a unarguable (to me) difference. It does make sense that fat pistons would need more timing?
