After some chat with Alstrup on Samba I've ordered a VS Exhaust. Fortunately he agrees I'd get not a lot of benefit from a 4:1 system at double the price. That was close. I will shortly be selling a nearly new stock exhaust for a Type-4 engine.
Not keen on shiny exhausts I've have to scuff it up and paint it silver badly.

Not today, as such, although it was gone midnight when I finished!!
Had a pleasant day, drinking a bit of wine, then some lager, then, some old Rosie..... that’s when it hit me! I have to paint the steels on the bus!
So, as quietly as I could, I took em off, rubbed em down and cleaned em, then undercoat and two coats of silver from an old Wilko silver spray paint I found buried in the garage spider corner

 

How do I make the picture the right way round??!

 

Grippy tyres!
