Managed to trip the load output on the epever solar regulator by getting it too hot today. Its mounted on the side of the bus beside a battery charger that usually wouldnt be doing much but instead is blowing hot air charging batteries because the solar cells are not installed at the moment.
I think there also needs to be some more thermal insulation ...or setting up an awning ..

  3. Took him for a spin through the countryside.

  7. Thanks.

I'll save the long bar removal for another day.

Is the pedal mount meant to look like this or has mine been modified/bodged?

The bit where its screwed to the floor

  12. I've done all the bits I can get at without removing the tube.

    Creaking seems to have stopped.

  16. Good day on our van today :)

Sun was shining....laid the new window rubber for the sliding door out on the roof in the sun to straighten and soften.....lo and behold 90 mins later it fitted beautifully.
So that's both windows done and back in on the passenger side. That side of the van is looking quite presentable now....celebrated by taking the little girl out for a spin up the lane! (then tinted the boot windows on out old X trail!)

Time to make a start on the drivers side tomorrow.
.....the lourve window area looks in good nick, no signs of leaks or rust....but the rear window is a different story.....there is a LOT of filler...good job I've got a good stock of gas and wire!

Didn't have a gasket for the back box so decided to get creative. Made a template out of paper then used that as a stencil and sprayed some paint on a sheet of ali eml from an old cooker hood.

I cut them out and stuck them on the end of each face to be joined with hylomar exhaust paste and smeared a thin layer on each.

Squidged it all together. Exhaust ticked off the list :)

So release the hand brake and slacken off the adjuster, take off drums and check shoes, spray loads of brake cleaner and free off adjusters (cogs) working them until they spin freely by hand, replace drums and wheels, get a torch and from the rear shine the torch into the holes at the bottom take a screw driver push the cog forward until the wheel locks then loosen the cog until the wheel turns, repeat on the other cog, adjust the hand brake so that it pulls no more than 5 clicks, job done

  19. Great thanks

  20. Until it creaks again.

Don't fancy removing all the gubbins, as I'll probably create a problem where there isn't one at the moment.

If it's not broke, don't try to fix it and all that
