Drove it to work. Had to stop to clear the ice off the windows about half a mile from home.. it rained then froze up the locks and door seals..

And had to clear a dead mouse off the garden path. Our No1 cat does this more often now to prove his seniority over the fat No2 cat lump indoors..
Then he comes in and is extra friendly. The dead young rat on the path a few days back meant I got amazing friendly treatment...

And the poptop creaked like somebody was rubbing some polystyrene until whatever ice melted and it shut up as I was just getting really annoyed with it.

And the poptop is still latched down. Its only taken 9 1/2 years and nearly losing the poptop to do something about the fact that one out of the four latches would pop undone by itself.

If it's any consolation I just bought 5 rolls of TESA tape to do the behind-the-dash stuff.

  5. Excellent. It's great - tough stuff and won't rattle behind your dash.

I confess I ordered more thin-wall yesterday. I've asked for it to be delivered under plain wrapper. Don't want the neighbours seeing .

It's a slippery slope to fitting a Subaru engine my friend!

  8. Got out my measuring stick and made a drilling template. I'll do a couple of exploratory holes tomorrow. If I'm really skilled, I can drill straight through both the main heater hose and the front brake pipe

    We did find:
Both rear axles have play axially rather than wobbly.
Some of the chassis needs the old paint stripping off and sorting.
Left hand long sill, rear wheel end needs checking out.

  11. Out for cheeky overnighter , just local to top up the leisure battery

Having no sense of smell I bought a cheapo gas alarm so having plenty of time on my hands decided to check the unions I renewed last year .
Gas was turned on and it started going off around the cooker - bugger .
Stripped the lot out and found this...

    Moral ??

Don't take gas fittings for granted, I used the van all last year and think I've been very lucky ...

On mi way to buy a lottery ticket

    Eeek. Good that you checked.
Any chance you could bring the gas meter to techenders? Would appreciate a quick flick around my gassy parts if you don't mind.
    Enjoy your cheeky overnighter.
