Swapped over all the poptop latch hooks for the home made stainless hooks and used stainless bolts to secure them.
Wind only smacked the poptop shut on my head once.

Its a special thing. In China and the United States they believe you can use aluminium for low voltage and mains wiring. It corrodes. Its cheap.

Went to Halfords in it, filled up with petrol for the first time since Dubreeze , becaue of the bad weather since.
Went and bought a bag of A2 stainless nuts and bolts to refix the poptop as the original bolts are rusting.

Bought some new windscreen wiper blades for the bus, fitted them, the trip to Dubfreeze was their final straw.

  8. 100W doesn’t sound like much...

  9. Polished ... used some Carnauba wax seems to have done the job. Then cleaned the windows with some windowlene.

I’d be really happy with 100w from two panels rated at 100w but it’s more like 10w, and usually nothing. Until panel efficiency and reliability improves, I might not bother to replace them.

  11. And that's in sunny France?

Yesterday, in a sunny period, the 2x100 watt series connected solar panels were producing about 3 amps at about 34 volts which translated to about 5 amps at 13 volts , running the fridge basically direct off solar.

Then it clouded over and went to about 0.1 amp...

I have begun to hatch a cunning plan to find broken solar cells in a panel, without directly probing.. it might need to be able to access the output wires, with the panel disconnected from the controller..

Yep, with the front of the bus on stands to get the panels aimed at the sun as directly as possible, no clouds and no shade. In the UK in real conditions the controller is constantly asleep. I’m not saying my system is typical but it can happen and it’s quite common.

  17. Driven from Guiseley to Hounslow, no problems, I think it may be time to have a working windscreen washer system:).
If that is the extent of my worries life is good:):)
