@PSG Wanna givee a call, I have had this before and it was collapsed followers, yours in 1.9 water cooled DG code engine. Isn't it ?
@davidoft yes it is 1.9 wbx. @Paul Weeding I will be dropping the oil to check that too most probably.
so i have been shown this, and it seems that i am talking about cylinder two if this diagram is correct. Which also means that if that is the case, that may be why it is not quite right. I was under the impression it went anticlockwise 1-4, and not the above? It would explain alot.
yep, rip out the fushrod tube. On a t4 it's just possble to shine a light and look down the tube to see the follower.
@PSG When doing the gaps are you turning the engine 1/2 a turn anti-clockwise at the crank pulley, the Top dead centre on your engine is at the case join at the top? If not you won't get it right, you can do the job with telescopic tubes but they aren't cheap, so you only want to pull out what you need, also these can suffer with cam lobes wearing flat so, how many cylinders have the issue and how many valves on each cylinder? Also if you don't pump up the followers you can have the issue you have, lazy followers 5 mins chat on the phone will be quicker than lots of posts
Just pulled this. Not even hydraulic. Wtf is going on I am either clueless or this engine doesn't have hydraulic followers.
