Serious question. Are you still enjoying bay ownership?

Went to Howdens this morning to pick up 7 New oak doors in the pickup, just dropped the side gate and he loaded them on a pallet with the forklift, he was impressed how much easier it was than these modern builders vans

Am I going to be the only one to say my enjoyment is waning?!

I'm using mine as a daily and worrying about the deterioration, lack of time to do anything about it, lack of camping, worrying about camping with the nipper, fuel economy....

It's used to say I smiled every time I drove it and would happily sing loudly to cover the sound of the engine... now I've realised I was taking in big gulps of whatever the heat exchangers were blowing through to the cab which caused a persistent cough!!

And then there's the whole falling off the jack, breaking my arm situation....

    Have looked at the classifieds!

Perhaps a winter of discontent will see you back smiling in the spring Andy.

Your van is nice Dunc but it's a drop side pickup not an ordinary builders van, there's millions of em mostly transits that your forklift bloke must load every day, all those on here with converted panels are the one's who have ordinary builders vans.

  8. I use my bay as my daily. It's 2L so tbh it's fine for my location speed wise as its like city traffic 24/7 On motorways I'll sit at 65-70 if possible but that's not very often nowadays.
I'm a shift worker so school run is my life I'm pulling in Average 20.6 mpg. Been using an app for circa 15months religiously.
For comfort I've got a propex which I use 24/7 (not literally) 1st thing I do is switch it on and in 6 years I've never scrapped a window or been cold.
We camp in it through out the year (awning a must for us)
As for maintenance I must either be extremely lucky or my constant use is doing it good as apart from tyres, fuel lines/breathers and ball joints in 6 years all other work has been elective and oil servicing.
I am still enjoying bay ownership
