Serious question. Are you still enjoying bay ownership?

Since we sorted work so that we get every Friday off we've been away for three days a week minimum since February and several full weeks as well during the summer.

We love ours to bits, he is in at the moment having some very costmetic surgery.
Hopefully we will never have to get rid of him as he's part of the family and in testate.
Here are some of Herman's exploits..dating back through the years.

I'm enjoying it more recently as I slowly finish its long restoration, it's more of a rolling resto now with mainly the interior bits to do, stayed it in 5 nights this year I think, but determined to use it a lot next year.

  12. Does seem to be mostly about being able to tell slightly racist, slightly sexist jokes so far?

  13. No I'm not enjoying bay ownership. It's a Marmitee state of affairs.

  14. Yeah some people do get a bit over enthusiastic with the novelty of having a bit of freedom, once they have it out of their sytem we hope it will calm down a bit.
The ethos of the site is that people will self moderate but if they do over step the mark anyone is free to pull them up on it.
To be fair some of the people i thought would be trouble have turned out to be quite good at self moderating.
There are new sections being added almost daily as the site developes and matures, it will take time but it will get there. Just dont be put off by a few that push to see if there are any boundaries. If you don't like something its down to you to either speak out or scroll past.

  15. I do agree ,but I think the forum is a great idea ,the t5/4 owners did not have a place to go and on here is not ideal..

Remides me of a tap room ,saturdays were brill horse racing ,cards, pool having muddy knees under your jeans after you had played footy ,you could swear ,fart everything ,but i soon discovered the lounge ,girls and karaoke...:D

only thing that annoys me is the recruitement drive ,let's hope that ends soon...:hattip:

  16. I have my reservations. I think people generally don't self-regulate very well.

  20. After all these years my bay is the only car I can afford. But I'm wierd.
Saving up for a proper elevating roof bed this year, so it's easier to head off to the middle of nowhere, as I like to do.

I drive it through winter, and ignore imperfections. It's only off the road if it stops. lpg conversion and Propex make it possible. I dread the time when all we have is a bunch of weekenders with and the parts

I've driven over these mountain ranges.....
Alps, Pyrenees, Picos de Europe, outeniqua, Hottentots Hollandse, pass of the cattle, and many many smaller ones in Wales and Scotland.

Sometimes you just stick with what you know.
