    He put leads on battery.

He did ask where the battery was!

Even jumping from his lorry it simply didn't want to turn over fast enough.

    Shrugged his shoulders.

Said he hasn't got the tool to check it with him

  3. Sorry you not sorted mate but you've had sh1t service imho.

  4. if he needs to find a tool he should look in the mirror. As I say above, carp service worthy of complaint.

    I agree but I don't think it's the battery - it's only a year old.

My money is on starter or engine

  6. hmm it does sound like it the starter though I have to say. I got a really cheap one from Germany off eBay and its not great. the solenoid doesn't seem to always pull in right and so the motor doesnt spin. after a few goes it does. and occasionally it works first time. I am going to fit a hot start relay though as that may be the issue. you could try bump starting it? anyone around to push?

  7. I hate not being provided with a suitable solution by so called competent people. It's just not acceptable. The cost of relaying isn't exactly cheap.

Automatic so that's not an option

ikely to be your ignition switch or wiring and easy to diagnose.

  10. i forgot that. Still shouldn't be that hard though although wiring issues can complicate starting issues I'm told on these. Isn't there a switch on the stick that can cause issues. However power directly to the motor would tell a lot.

  11. Oh dear sorry. you could always connect a piece of wire to the spade connector on the starter and touch that directly to the battery + if you have some cable. that will at least eliminate the ignition switch and wiring if its the same

Presumably if engine is seized it won't even turn over - fast or slowly

  14. yes although it is possible to slightly seize it and just make it very tight. I had it happen on outboard engines a lot, they would tighten up and stop but would run again when cold.

  15. Why do you think it is the engine that is seized? Fitting a thermostat shouldn't cause it to seize

    Nothing like assuming the worst!

  17. Jumper cable from battery direct to starter will soon tell you

    Been texting Paul.

It won't turn over on pulley. He's even thinking it don't bode well.

Expect the worst and then it can only get better :)
